At Tulsa starting off a 3 game division stretch.

TUL converted some tight 3rds but threw a pick once they got into scoring range, while we plodded down (8 minute drive) to a 1st and goal form the 3 but could only get the FG after a holding call. 4 consecutive punts with us on top of a field position battle with penalties stalling both Os before TUL ripped off a 95 yard TD run. We finally strung together some conversions and had a nice chunk play from aging TE Evans, this tiem converting from 1st and goal on 3rd down for a 3 point lead. TUL got hot in the passing game ripping off several nice completions on their way to their own TD just inside of 2 minutes. We crossed midfield but threw a pick and TUL missed a last second 54 yarder.

TUL continued to have success doubling Ferguson and we threw another pick and TUL WR Mitchell punished us by breaking away on a short pass for a TD and 11 point lead. We ran short on what was I believe on 4th 3rd and 2 in the game. We got the stop but threw yet another pick (guess it's me not Terhorst or Nail). TUL dinked their way to another FG attempt but pulled it. We got a couple good ground gains but again stalled out and just got the FG. Another stop for our D, but PR Reedy coughed it up (we foolishly thought that problem had gone away) and TUL went up 15 1 play later. Another INT by S Perry with 13 minutes left and another broken run play put this one away for TUL.

They played S Perry at LCB. Nice touch bbriders, you outcoached us in a big way.

On the road against a quality team and we came up short. I’m very pleased with our offense today. Rookie Philip Picton had another huge game, he was a great find for us in the third round. He could become an all-time great. Defensively we just weren’t good quite good enough. Our record so far is very disappointing but I’m seeing some good things for the future

I spent some time game planing for this one and it paid off. D came up big on multiple plays and Lodge and Mitchell both broke off some big plays. It will be an interesting rematch next time we play.

GG Aamalin,

Before that pick six we were just watching you run up and down the field.

You have the toughest schedule in the league. There are wins coming Tennessee's way.

7-1 record at this point is surprising, but the Brawlers have business at hand...the Yankee Division. Boston beat us the first week and we need to avenge that loss.

Good luck Boston,
Dean Gullberry

I've been slacking on posting every game so this will be for Weeks 6-8.

Week 6 Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz had a nice game on Defense and Cooper Allen was not having a great game. We threw a pick for TD and nearly lost in the 4th quarter. My Offense put it all together on the final drive and scored on an 80 yard TD drive.

Week 7 Death Valley

Death Valley was dominated by our Defense, allowing 0 points. We had another pick for TD unfortunately, but won 23-7. Overall a good game.

As predicted, we beat both squads.

Week 8 Los Angeles

This game was domination by my Defense yet again. Los Angeles couldn't do much, Archie Blanchard 15/38 for 137 yards says it all.

We rushed the ball way too many times to Lenny Morrison. He played well in the 1st half, in the 2nd half, Los Angeles had good run defense. Towards the end of the game we were running the clock out and he was consistently being stopped for short yards.

3 Wins in 3 Weeks. Weeks 6-7 were expected but you never know what can happen with divisional games and a great QB like Blanchard. Overall amazing performance by my Defense, allowing 12 points on 4 field goals in 3 weeks. We had 2 picks for TDs that make our Defense look less impressive.

Coming up we have a bye in Week 9

Week 10 we go on the road against a very disappointing Tucson squad, the first of a 4 game road stint for Honolulu.

GG PWoo,

I started watching the game and 30 seconds in I closed Solevision and went to do something else. I came back later and went through the log file and felt rather childish for walking away so quick the first time. Definitely an interesting game that leaves me still wondering where we are at in our rebuild.

I'd like for our success to continue but I know we don't have the QB play or enough talent at WR to get past the WC round if we make it there. The defensive talent and running game is enough to win in the playoffs, but we're still short on talent in key spots.

Good luck the rest of the way.
