Breaking news from Brooklyn: the former first round pick, sixth year quarterback that has led the Brawlers to back-to-back CFL Bowls has been shipped down to Shreveport for a their second round pick. Now the burden is shifted to the shoulders of 22 year old Daquan Woodford.

Emotions around Brooklyn range from bewilderment to excitement.

"If it is not broken, then don't fix it. We just lost our trigger man that has done nothing but good for the Brawlers. GM Gullberry needs to have his head examined. We go from a proven starter in this league to a guy that has only started 3 games. Wish the best for our man Staat and hope this does not come back to bite us in the butt"
-Baxter Child

"Great opportunity to see what we have in Woodford. He is also a first round pick that has big upside compared to Staat. We hate to see Staat leave but feel we are in good hands with our quarterback situation between Woodford and Amadro. Props to GM Gullberry for making this difficult decision and making sure Staat is moved to a great organization like Shreveport"
-Sonny Beaches

"We want thank Carlos on everything he did for our organization. He was idolized in Brooklyn and gave us five great seasons. I am certain he we be a great fit for the Pride and wish him continued success"
-Dean Gullberry

In other football news around Brooklyn, kicker George Kooiker finally hung up the cleats. He was a second round draft pick for Brooklyn in 2043 and helped the Brawlers win the title in 2044. Ironically his last game was played against Brooklyn. Kooiker got the last laugh as his Honolulu Sharks edged Brooklyn in the CFL Bowl. Time to put those golden feet up and give them a rest. Congrats to Kooiker on a great career.

I know this was a hard decision for you to make, keep a proven winner or go with the young up and comer. I think you made the correct choice, Daquan is going to be special and Staat is a great game manager but not a Bowl winner. You had to move to Daquan this year or he probably wont reach that 60 rating.

I remember Kookier, good for him, he was one of the greats.

Great post Dean

Kooiker retired at number two in points scored. Norm Doman from Tuscon is number one. Norm was Kent Goodwin's kicker.

Back in 2043...Brooklyn just had our kicker, Tyrus "MVP" Wooden, retire. So we interviewed Kooiker and had him at under-rated. He probably made more money than any other kicker. Mainly Brooklyn's fault but he played twelve seasons for the Brawlers.

Well its like the old saying goes...

"I hate to see him go, but I love to watch him leave."

wait...

I think that's the wrong saying...

Here we go...

"Make new friends, but keep the old; Those are silver, these are gold. "

I hope Staat continues to shower the league with golden passes for his future team just like he did for yours.

Here's to another season in the bowl Dean Gullberry; Good luck!!!

Which means it was likely the correct move for us. :)

Staat fits into our Erhardt-Perkins offense very well. I may have some fun swapping QB's in and out this year if Nolan Scott recovers from his ACL. As it is, I need some insurance if Scott doesn't recover. If he does recover, I have a QB controversy on my hands.
