Here is the replay of the Dustin Roush interview after last week's game. Clipped from KLAS-Channel 8's sports report.

Hi, this is Walter Mellon reporting live from the basement of Caeser's Palace, the Las Vegas Rounders' practice facility. Tonight I am delighted to be joined by the Rounders starting QB, Dustin Roush.

Walter: Tell me Dustin, how does it feel to notch your 3rd home win and the 7th on the season?

Dustin: Honestly, it's still a little surreal right now, but we're just focusing on one game at a time and executing what Coach Tubbs and Coach Norton ask of us each week.

Walter: Surreal you say? That's interesting because Turf Toe was very clear, both on and off the record, that you were going to be the starter this season after Harvey declared that last season was his final season.

Dustin: True, but this is the CFL and that stuff is only accurate during its current news cycle. Things change quickly in this league and as a 3rd round selection I have to work hard every day to justify my roster spot. I'm no idiot, at least that's what they told me when I graduated from Harvard, and I know the only guarantee in the CFL is a bonus check when you cash it. I'm grateful for every game, every snap I get in this league because you never know when it will be your last. Turf Toe told me I was the starter the minute Harvey made his decision. He reassured me I was the starter when the media wondered who he was bringing in to lead this offense. He also called me right before the draft and asked if I would be upset if we went defense early and brought in some competition from me after that.

Walter: And what did you tell him?

Dustin: I told him to bring in as much competition as he could afford and that I would beat them all. I'm humble enough to know I'm replaceable but confident enough to know it would be a downgrade.

Walter: Vegas sits atop the Ring of Fire at 7-2 and projects to make the playoffs. Many have questioned the schedule and others have credited the defense for your success. What is your take on the team's success?

Dustin: I'm glad you worded it that way Walter. Our team's success is a result of our teamwork. The offense executes the gameplan and we have to put points on the board. I'm not happy with our efficiency right now, but we've done enough to win games. We want to be better and we work every day to make sure we get there. I can't argue that our defense is responsible for our success. This defense is amazing. Coaching aside, this defense is the primary driver for my improvement since I got into the league. Going against this defense last season as the scout team QB was a baptism by fire and I'm glad I don't have to play against them on Sunday's.

Walter: I don't know Dustin, 14 touchdowns with 3 interceptions is pretty efficient. You are aware that both of those numbers are tied for 2nd best in the league?

Dustin: I'm not worried about stats. We aren't as efficient as we'd like to be in the red zone or on 3rd downs. Turf Toe's philosophy on stats is that there is but a single stat - championships. He's given me an opportunity in this league and I don't want to disappoint him.

Walter: Humble you may be Mr. Roush, but there's no denying that you lead an offense that owns a 7-2 record thus far in the 2067 season and have twice led this team from behind to seal victories.

Pundits have declared this team a red herring and others are projecting a win or more in the playoffs. Only time will tell.

This has been Walter Mellon with KLAS, Channel 8, joined by Rounders QB, Dustin Roush, saying good night and game on!

Smitty's take is, he's winning and he could be showing theCFL a new way of doing it. The big question is, can you win without a star QB IE highly rated one and he is proving it. If he can take your team to the playoffs and win one, I'll be a believer.

It can happen for sure. Won FFL bowl many moons ago with a 40 rated QB that came in off waivers. Too bad I can't win one with good QB's
