What if I told you... that sometimes the toughest foes to block are the ones in your head.

Since the day he could walk it was clear young Alvin Teraway was born to do one thing- play backup Fullback in the CFL.

Even as an 8 year old kid in pop warner football, coaches raved about his above average play.

We interviewed his Middle School football coach Mike Hawk and he had this to say... "never in all my years have I see a full back as good as Riley Gains, it's about time someone did a documentary on him." "What do you mean...?" "this isn't about Riley?" "Alvin?" "Yeah I guess he was alright; he never saw the field much..." "I mean if we lost a guy or two I'd put him right in..." "Probably..."

All those years of somewhat dedicated work didn't go un-noticed by College scouts who ranked him as the 293'rd best fullback in his recruiting class.

After 5 reasonably uneventful years at several junior colleges he saw his draft potential sky-rocket into the mid to late 7th round after he adequately backed up the first Heisman contender at fullback Zach Wheeler during part of the 2039 Season.

Death Valley reluctantly snapped at the chance to draft him in the late 7th round and he's been pretty good ever since. That was until tragicty struck at the end of the 2042 season. Veteran Journeyman full-back Dean Nixon was lost to free agency or something... I kinda forget. Suddenly Alvin was in the position he'd dreaded since childhood; Starter.

Sometimes when a volcano builds up for long enough it explodes... Other times it just kinda oozes downhill. Alvin's condition slowly deteriorated to the point where he couldn't leave his modest duplex with out paralyzing fear of being counted on by someone. Maybe it would be his team, or friend, or family- he just couldn't risk it. Heck I just asked him to move his car and he didn't come out of his house for a month.

During late free agency Alvin dropped his announcement like a bombshell; in a well worded email to the assistant coach. He would be stepping away from the team for an indefinite period to work on his anxiety which was described by his team doctor as "Severe".

Right away the outpouring of support was about what was expected. With literally dozens of letters of support and a quickly funded $178 Go Fund Me to pay for the insurance co-pays for his treatment. He was even given the nickname Alvin "Positive Thoughts" Tearaway by his somewhat concerned owner, Jander.

Just when it seemed the 2043 season would be a complete loss something magical happened. I don't know if you believe in miracles and I don't know if I do either, but after what happened at the end of the 2043 season can only be described as one thing- moderately convenient.

After 13 games of backing up for embattled full back Alvin Teraway, replacement fullback Mike Pearce was promoted to interim starting fullback. The weight was lifted, Alvin was ready he was a slightly changed man. It was time to get back his dream his destiny.

Some men fold under pressure and some soar. But some rare men like Alvin do the former and then kinda the second- sorta.
