Official 2045 transaction list for the Atlantic City Phantoms.

FA Stage 1

G Sedrick Sanjic - http://www.thecfl.us/v3player.php?player=31140 - signed a renegotiated contract- 3 yrs, $42.91 mil
- Sanjic (55/55), is the top interior lineman on the squad and was entering the last year of his contract. With the new deal, ACI will save close to $2 million this season.

RB Jeffrey Emack - http://www.thecfl.us/v3player.php?player=33341signed a renegotiated contract - 4 yrs, $60.25 mil
- Emack (58/58), was the 12th overall pick in the 2012 draft and has rushed for 1,000+ yards each season of his career. He remains the long term running back for the Phantoms

FB Zion Price -http://www.thecfl.us/v3player.php?player=33400 - signed a renegotiated contract - 2 yrs, $7.40 mil
- Even with young 2nd year FB Diego Loupe on the roster, ACI felt it was important to extend Price (47/47) for 2 seasons. Price has tremendous value as a run blocker, special teams performer and mentor to Loupe.

FA Stage 2

TE Jeff Barker - http://www.thecfl.us/v3player.php?player=32615 - signed for 3 yrs, $54.84 mil
- When the decision was made to not resign Carlos Polhemus, tight end became a huge need for ACI. Barker (63/63) was by far the best tight end available and will get a chance to make an impact in the Phantoms two-te offense. Was he overpaid at over $16 mil this year? Probably, but the cap was available and a hole has been filled.

DE Dan Buckley - http://www.thecfl.us/v3player.php?player=31327 - signed for 3 yrs, $22.46 mil
- With a ton of defensive linemen available in the draft and ACI sitting at pick 9, on the surface this seems like a curious signing. However, when you look at the money ($6.6 mil this year) it was actually, in our opinion, a good signing. Buckley (52/52) is a mentor and can split time with Winston Harper (and his horrible endurance) to create a very formidable duo at right defensive end.

FA Stage 4-8 (Atlantic City was VERY active)

QB Burt McGinnis – http://www.thecfl.us/v3player.php?player=29167 – signed for 2 yrs, $13.47 mil.
- After Atlantic City decided against resigning last year’s starter Tyrus Wheeler (signed by Iowa City) and lost out in the bidding for Thurman Crane (good signing Omaha), they were in serious need of a quarterback. McGinnis (47/47) did not start any games for Shreveport the last two seasons after Brantley Gilmore was acquired from Los Angeles. However, from 2040 to 2042 he averaged 28 TD passes and 11 interceptions and a qb rating of 92. Time will tell if he has anything left in his tank.

FB Deion Bishop – http://www.thecfl.us/v3player.php?player=30096 – signed for 2 yrs, $9.94 mil.
- Speaking of Shreveport, ACI beat them out for the services of Bishop (60/60). With Price and young Loupe (43/70) on the roster, this seems to be a curious signing. Is there a reason to have three fullbacks? That will be up to the coaching staff to figure out.

TE Glen Schroeder – http://www.thecfl.us/v3player.php?player=36796 – signed for 2 yrs, $3.29 mil.
- Schroeder (16/40) adds some depth at tight end for a low cap number. The Phantoms were intrigued by his receiving skills, mainly the high potentials at route running.

SE Jose Robinson – http://www.thecfl.us/v3player.php?player=31011 – resigned for 3 yrs, $33.55 mil.
- After testing free agency, Robinson (45/45) returned to ACI after they made a late push. He had 51 receptions last year and provides quality opposite flanker McLaurin.

G Richard Keith – http://www.thecfl.us/v3player.php?player=30353 – signed for 3 yrs, $27.23 mil.
- Keith (48/48) replaces Shovel Barton, who signed with San Antonio. He is younger and is a much better pass blocker but is rated a bit lower and is not the run blocking menace that Barton is. Overall, it is a good swap that saves close to $5 million in cap space.

CB Ron Gonzalez – http://www.thecfl.us/v3player.php?player=32339 – signed for 3 yrs, $30.09 mil.
- The Phantoms had offers out to all three of the top cornerbacks on the market and Gonzalez (48/48) signed despite a higher offer from Santa Cruz. I guess he saw how much he was needed in Atlantic City. He immediately becomes the #1 corner on the roster.

SE Jerald Francis – http://www.thecfl.us/v3player.php?player=30215 – resigned for 2 yrs, $13.06 mil.
- Like Robinson, Francis (40/40) tested free agency before deciding to return to ACI. He also had a higher offer from another CFL team (Iowa City) but in the end is a Phantom once again.

G Bart Zepeda – http://www.thecfl.us/v3player.php?player=31157 – resigned for 3 yrs, $13.66 mil.
- After not starting any games in 2044, the thought was that Zepeda (41/41) would sign with another team in the offseason. As it turns out, no other team made an offer so he returns as a strong backup at both guard spots.

WR Winfred Pearson – http://www.thecfl.us/v3player.php?player=31798 – signed for 3 yrs, $19.16 mil.
- Pearson (36/36) provides sure hands and special teams ability and is a good depth signing although at probably a higher cost then they should have paid.

T Otis Wolf – http://www.thecfl.us/v3player.php?player=33725 – resigned for 2 yrs, $4.96 mil.
- Yet another unrestricted free agent who returned to ACI, Wolf (28/37) signed a cap friendly deal. A 6 year veteran who is still showing signs of improvement, this deal was worth the chance.

G Dakota Carr – http://www.thecfl.us/v3player.php?player=34499 – signed for 3 yrs, $19.40 mil.
- This might be one of the best signings of the period as Carr (43/43) is a very good lineman who loses a bit in his total rating due to low endurance. He could surprise as a spot starter and a rotational player.

T Devan Low – http://www.thecfl.us/v3player.php?player=34548 – signed for 2 yrs, $3.96 mil.
- Another depth signing, if Low (40/40) holds at his current rating then he could be another piece of the puzzle on the offensive line. He is a strong blocker at a reasonable cap number.

WLB Brit Madison – http://www.thecfl.us/v3player.php?player=34809 – signed for 3 yrs, $17.44 mil.
- Atlantic City entered free agency with only 3 linebackers on the roster. Madison (42/42) is still young and has missed only one game in the past three seasons. He is an excellent backup who might push for some starting time.

FS Ryan Wheeler – http://www.thecfl.us/v3player.php?player=34955 – signed for 2 yrs, $14.37 mil.
- Atlantic City beat out 3 other teams to sign Wheeler (43/43). He fills a big need at free safety and will battle Gonzalez for the starting spot.

FA Stage 9-10

LS Cristian Hayes - - Signed for 2 yrs, $2.89 mil
- He is a long snapper. ACI needed a long snapper.

WLB Wesley Emmons - - Signed for 2 yrs, $8.30 mil.
- The signing of Emmons (29/29) is a pass rushing experiment. After 8.5 sacks in 2043, he dropped to 3.5 last year in only 8 starts. High pass rush technique and pass rush strength numbers show that he has the ability to rush the passer. ACI ownership thought it was worth the gamble

SS Craig Fann also notified the team that he is holding out for a better contract. As a 4 year vet with his best football ahead of him, this dispute should be settled fairly quickly.

Late FA Stages 1-3

SS Craig Fann - http://www.thecfl.us/v3player.php?player=35691 Signed for 4 yrs, $51.55 mil
- There was never any doubt that Fann (52/52) would agree to a new contract. Both sides were happy with the deal

QB Darren Connell - http://www.thecfl.us/v3player.php?player=37462 Signed for 1 yr,, $1.06 mil
- Atlantic City needed a third quarterback heading into camp and pre-season. Connell (9/35) is a placeholder until a better option comes available.

P Jose Wynn - http://www.thecfl.us/v3player.php?player=33728 Re-signed for 3 yrs, $6.09 mil
- Wynn (53/53) has been with Atlantic City since 2040. An unrestricted free agent, he didn’t find much of a market for his services so he has come back to the Phantoms. His numbers were down a bit (43.3 yard average and 36.3 net) so may need to fight off some competition.

P O.J. Ridge - http://www.thecfl.us/v3player.php?player=37880 Signed for 1 yr., $1.76 mil
- Here is the competition. Ridge (22/63) looks to have some potential with a very strong leg.

WR Earnest Rodriguez – released
- Rodriguez was signed a few days ago before being released to make room for the additions above. His signing / release was so sudden that the actual signing was never reported.

C Vince Wimmer – released
- Wimmer was the Phantoms 4th round pick in 2044 and never progressed like the team hoped despite high pass blocking potential.

K Scottie Compton -http://www.thecfl.us/v3player.php?player=37065 Signed for 2 yrs., $3.86 mil
- A second year kicker, Compton (22/64) spent his rookie season with Iowa City. He played in 4 games and was 5/9 on field goals. This was another competition signing, as his potential ratings seemed worth a gamble.

G Broderick Barker - http://www.thecfl.us/v3player.php?player=37766 Signed for 1 yr., $1.06 mil
- A rookie free agent, Barker (11/34) has good run blocking skills but needs to show some quick improvement if he is going to stay around past training camp.
