Division of Conference runner-up Long Beach.

[bd3e52f9]Long Beach WTF? 2016 (12-4):[/bd3e52f9]

Long Beach only had 3 picks, and their first pick was at the back end of the 2nd round. One of their three picks has already been released and picked up by another team. Little disappointed with the two picks they still have, which were 2nd and 3rd rounders.

[ud3e52f9]Grade: I ~ Incomplete, can't grade just two picks. Their third pick that is no longer with them was the fourth to last player picked in the draft.[/ud3e52f9]

[bd3e52f9]Santa Cruz Privateers 2016 (9-7):[/bd3e52f9]

Santa Cruz is another team that did not have a first round pick. Their first pick [player]Randal Gunn[/player] fills a need, but was not a reach. The other 2nd round pick for the Privateers, [player]Darrell McWilliams[/player] also fills a big need as the number 2 wide out. Darrell was still there due to some issues he had at college, but if he can mesh with this team, then he will be a real good pick up. [player]Edgar Schaefer[/player] is really good value for late in the 4th round. [player]Rex Lane[/player] was also great value, but this time in the 7th round. He can't help in the passing game, but has a nose for the ball carrier.

[ud3e52f9]Grade: A- ~ It really depends on how McWilliams gets along with his teammates. Plugged a lot of holes, without making a reach in most rounds.[/ud3e52f9]

[bd3e52f9]Huntington Beach Capitalists 2016 (6-10):[/bd3e52f9]

Ouch, 7th overall pick [player]Joey Osborne[/player] does not appear to be the same guy that was at the combine. A stellar player at Alabama, scouts are telling me from watching him at camp, that Joey is a bust. They say that Joey is useless in pass coverage, and that he cannot tell what the play is going to be until too late. The Capitalists hope he can turn it around, or else he will be a backup level player. [player]Gene Prior[/player] will be another disappointment. Not good when your 5th, 6th, and 7th rounders looked better in camp then your 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rounders.

[ud3e52f9]Grade: D+ ~ They did get really good value in the last 3 rounds, but the first four rounds hurt.[/ud3e52f9]

[bd3e52f9]Texas Sundevils 2016 (3-13):[/bd3e52f9]

Picking early and often in this draft, they got the best player in the draft with the first pick [player]Dustin Cineux[/player]. Solid picks with each selection for their slots except 3rd rounder [player]Darrin Sipos[/player], but it is never good for a player to change positions only to change back.

[ud3e52f9]Grade: B ~ Solid pick with the first one, and did about what was expected with all the rest of the picks.[/ud3e52f9]

Yup... The late-round players are the ONLY reason this isn't an F-minus-minus. What an unmitigated disaster.

Even if 7th-overall-pick Osborne [id818252]does[/id818252] turn it around, he will still only be a backup.

I was really surprised to see that. How did he look before camp?

Yeah, I am a little embarrassed about that switching thing... I didn't know it kept track of that. Pretty sure his ratings stayed the same, though... such as they are. I was very disappointed in my 3rd and 4th round OL picks; they were all crappier than I had hoped. Lesson learned.

Nice write up. You should get a raise

Before Camp, I had him as a 38/70.
After camp, a 24/49. That's -14/-21. Not good.
