Congratulations to Anchorage WR Kelley McCaleb who set a single game receiving record with 293 receiving yards against Las Vegas. The previous record was 237 yards set earlier this season by Seattle's Cole Faison in a game against Arizona.

As for Durham, if anyone knows how to stop the pass, please let me know. I gave up 300+ yards passing for the 3rd straight game (all losses). :?

OK, my DT David Specht now officially is Superman, check this out...

[quote3761bf0]
2-01-MEM44 (10:25) MEM 13 Urrutia pass completed to 83 Mike for 41 yards.

Tackled by BAL 77 Specht, assisted by BAL 43 Turnbull.

&Mike gained 29 yards after the catch.[/quote3761bf0]

He's assisting a cornerback on a tackle 41 yds downfield!!!

For the record, he also had 8 solo tackles, 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble, a blocked pass and 4 QB hurries.

First game of the season Rounds was held below 100 yards (actually his previous low was 123, but whatever.) We still got the win very late in OT, and now we get to play HB again, maybe we won't have 84 penalties this time.

Dola - Doea anyone have a Bactine popsicle?

If having the flu as a 5-point dog gets me a 52-13 ass whooping, I guess Seattle will only kick my ass in the neighborhood of 49-20 since I'm only a 4-point dog next week. Maybe this 2-week strain of flu can get left behind in Seattle. One can only hope.

We're still trying to figure out how Arizona's water supply got redirected to Las Vegas...

It was ugly, but I'll take a 9-0 win. It's good to see my defense looking like last year's squad, but I really need Shaun Easterday to get healthy. Without him leading the way, Terrell Keith has been having a hell of a time gaining any yards...

Another ugly week as Huntington Beach falls to division rival Santa Cruz 18-0. We turned the ball over 4 times. Can't win if you do that.

Well then...

Starting my rookie QB [b6d96992]Darryl Cassidy[/b6d96992] did not work out so well...

Damn.

I knew this game was lost from the very first play from scrimmage - star CB Keven Biggs got knocked out of the game with a hyperextended elbow making a tackle on a running play. Given that much of my defensive gameplan revolved around him, I knew we'd be in for a rough ride with that gameplan going on unchanged without our lynchpin. Sure enough, we had a rough ride. Of course, it didn't help that our starting RG Christian Rushing got ejected in the second quarter for knocking down a field judge(?!). The result was a 20-7 pounding at home.

And the injuries continue to pile up for Tucson - not only is Biggs doubtful for next week, but our other starting CB is playing on a hurt knee, DT Chester Reed remains out for another month or so, MLB Grant Wash is out for at least another month with broken ribs, and SS Alvin McCloskey is out for a month with a hyperextended knee. Starters, all. Of course, this all comes on top of our two already IR'd offensive linemen. Lady Luck has certainly turned her back on us, it seems. :x

One final rant: for the love of all that is holy can someone force Jim to sit at his computer and please, [ieabfbca]please[/ieabfbca] change the FG decision code? Just because a kicker has good kicking power does not mean that he should be routinely attempting 55 or 57 yarders in the early-to-middle stages of close games - field position is far more important!

YES! The team was really fired up for this game and came out playing! on the very first play, a 49 yd kickoff return. We then smothered the Attack in the first quarter, and managed to hold them off for the rest of the game. That win really makes me happy! :D

Hartford is truly an impressive team though, and I dread having to face them again possibly in the playoffs...

Congrats to Albany.

We played everything short of horrible and still had a chance to send the thing to overtime. It didn't happen. A last second FG sealed the deal for Albany.

Lorenzo wasn't great today, throwing two picks in a row and then adding a third later. He managed to put up 293 passing with 2 TD's.... but still. The offense is going to be reworked for the game against Detroit.

Is it too early to put Toothpick Lang on the trading block for next year?

The defense took a couple of series off, and it ended up killing us. There was a little hope as we held Albany to five punts in a row in the fourth, but it wasn't enough.

Back home for Detroit...

I may be interested in Toothpick...Stephen Metz is losing favor here in Durham...he might be on the trading block next year.

Hard to believe that Oregon-Boise was a playoff matchup last year. We win for the first time since week 1, 20-7 over the Ice.
We controlled the clock pretty well. 37:31 to Oregon's 22:29.
The turnovers we forced came at good times, as well. For example, Oregon's longest drive in both distance and time was a 9 play 54 yard drive covering 3:57 that ended in an interception.
Qb Thomas Kuhn doesn't get his revenge. It's not often mentioned that he started some playoff games for us the year before last when Lin was hurt. One of my first moves upon taking over the team was cutting him, so I've been continually surprised to see him starting in Oregon. After this 15/41, 2 interception, 2 fumble performance, I am still surprised.

I think the over/under for Hurst's passing yards is 375. I'd take the over.
