This is the stage where it's best for us to do (start) renegotiations and make offers to our FAs, right?

yes yes. start renegotiations and offer to your restricted FAs. you can also float offers to unrestricted FAs, but everyone can see them before any FA stage is run. so what I like to do is put out several outragous offers of $60-80m and then withdraw them before an actual stage is run. :wink:

Yes, this stage is intended to allow you to try some renegotiations with your existing players to free up some cap room before any free agency stages are run. If you make any offers to FAs during this stage, then everyone else will be able to see your offers and submit counteroffers before free agency stage-1 is run.
