We will start the draft tomorrow!

Here are the rules from the CFL Constitution:

"In the first two rounds, each team has an eight (8) hour time limit to make a selection. In all remaining rounds, there is a two (2) hour time limit. A team that does not select a player within the time limit will slide one pick down in the draft order (a la the Minnesota Vikings in 2003). If a team slides more than five picks down the draft order, the selection will be made by the CPU.

Teams will only be "on the clock" during official draft hours, from 8:00 a.m. EST to Midnight."


In the unlikely event that our draft utility is not ready by 8am tomorrow, we will still start the draft and teams can post their picks in the draft forum. Happy drafting!

Hmm, I don't think VPI's draft utility allows the sliding down thingie...

What should we do if this is confirmed?

Oh, that's right. I don't think we have a choice then. As soon as someone's time limit is up a selection will be made for them. Doug, are you still able and willing to help do this if necessary?

I will try my best to be around as much as possible, on tuesdays and thursdays I only work from 10-4 but on monday, wednesday, and friday I am gone from 8-6. At night I will be around to make picks and all but during the day we might need someone else to help.

Is the utility going to be available tonight? I have an appointment tomorrow that could run long and I don't want to hold the draft up.

I just sent a PM to VPI to ask when he thinks he'll have it ready. Because of the late availability, I won't enforce the clock until 24 hours after the utility is available.
