Watch for Vegas' appearance on "The Worst Finish" thread...[/quotebef5ad9]

My finish last year will be tough to beat. Losing 7 in a row..[/quotebef5ad9]

Sounds like Joe's thrown down the gauntlet, TurfToe. Will you accept his double-dog dare? Will you lose all of your remaining games? [ibef5ad9]Are you man enough?![/ibef5ad9][/quotebef5ad9]

We're not [ibef5ad9]that[/ibef5ad9] bad!

We'll still do better than those lowly Toros.

May the guantlet tossing begin...

I've been meaning to do this for the past week or two. I figured once you get into the double digit weeks, it's time to stop talking about starts and start talking playoffs. This is the best/worst start season wrap-up.

[size=24c6fcf5c]Best Start:[/sizec6fcf5c]

[bc6fcf5c]Arizona[/bc6fcf5c] - While Arizona ultimately got off to an awful 1-10 start, they did technically get off to their best start ever by winning in week 1. It was the first time the franchise ever started 1-0.

[bc6fcf5c]Boise[/bc6fcf5c] - 8-1 will likely remain the best start in Boise for some time. They had never had a start better than 4-3 until this year.

[bc6fcf5c]Hartford[/bc6fcf5c] - The Attack topped their 5-0 start of last year by going 7-0 this year. They will not match their 15-1 record of last season, though, as they lost their second game of the year this past week against Detroit.

[bc6fcf5c]Las Vegas[/bc6fcf5c] - Vegas had their best start in franchise history at 5-2. A quarterback injury has slowed them some since then, but at 7-5 they are still in the playoff picture.

[bc6fcf5c]Long Beach[/bc6fcf5c] - Long Beach got off to a red hot 4-0 start. They then lost 4 in a row. The 4-0 start is still good for the best start in their history, and their .500 record is still good for the lead in their division.

[bc6fcf5c]Tulsa[/bc6fcf5c] - Tulsa started 3-1, their best start, before losing 4 in a row. They have since fought their way back, winning 4 in a row to get themselves back in the playoff hunt and their first winning season. By winning their 7th game this pass week, they have ensured that this will be the best season in Tulsa history.

[size=24c6fcf5c]Worst Start:[/sizec6fcf5c]

[bc6fcf5c]Baltimore[/bc6fcf5c] - A brutal early schedule led to Baltimore tying their worst start at 1-3 and by the time their bye week rolled around they were 2-4 with losses to 4 playoff teams in Charleston, Tucson, Durham and Hartford.

[bc6fcf5c]Chicago[/bc6fcf5c] - An 0-8 start for the Hitmen is the worst they've ever had as well as the worst in the league this year.

[bc6fcf5c]Honolulu[/bc6fcf5c] - It seems like forever ago that Honolulu got off to a franchise worst start of 1-3. They have done a complete 180. Having won 8 in a row, they are now the hottest team in the CFL.

[bc6fcf5c]Oregon[/bc6fcf5c] - Oregon got off to their worst start in franchise history at 3-6. If they lose one more game they will record their first losing season.

[bc6fcf5c]Sacramento[/bc6fcf5c] - Sacramento's 3-5 start was the worst in franchise history. Injuries and close losses have made this a disappointing year, but the Dragons are still only a game behind Long Beach in the division.

[bc6fcf5c]San Antonio[/bc6fcf5c] - The Shooters have limped and then crawled to a 2-10 start. They haven't actually moved in some time.

[bc6fcf5c]Tampa Bay[/bc6fcf5c] - Tampa started 1-6 for the third time in franchise history, matching their worst start.

[size=24c6fcf5c]In between:[/sizec6fcf5c]

[bc6fcf5c]Albany[/bc6fcf5c] - Albany survived a 1-3 start and have worked their way up to 7-5 to get into the playoff picture.

[bc6fcf5c]Anchorage[/bc6fcf5c] - The Wolfpack got out to a 1-3 start before winning 4 straight. They currently sit at 6-6 and 4 games back in the Ring of Ice, but with 3 out of the next 4 at home they still have a shot at a wild card spot.

[bc6fcf5c]Atlantic City[/bc6fcf5c] - The boys from Jersey got out to a 1-4 start, but managed to avoid tying the franchise's worst start of 1-5. The Phantoms are a young team that are putting the pieces together. Their week 9 win over the best team in the league, Hartford, may be a sign of things to come.

[bc6fcf5c]Boston[/bc6fcf5c] - While this will wind up being the worst season in franchise history, they actually started 2-1 before the injuries struck.

[bc6fcf5c]Charleston[/bc6fcf5c] - The Monitors fell a game shy of their 9-0 start in 2004. An 8-0 start would be on the best list for most teams.

[bc6fcf5c]Cleveland[/bc6fcf5c] - The Flats got out to a 2-2 start before losing 5 straight to wreck their season beyond repair.

[bc6fcf5c]Denver[/bc6fcf5c] - The defending champs got off to a pretty good start at 4-1, but fell short of their best start of 8-1 in 2004.

[bc6fcf5c]Detroit[/bc6fcf5c] - The Vampires started 2-2 before going 6-2 in their next 8 games to get things back on track.

[bc6fcf5c]Durham[/bc6fcf5c] - Durham fell just short of tying their best start of 5-0. They managed to get out to a 4-0 start for the third time in franchise history, though.

[bc6fcf5c]El Paso[/bc6fcf5c] - The Rockets started the year 3-2. They have remained solid and are in the playoff hunt.

[bc6fcf5c]Fargo[/bc6fcf5c] - Like El Paso, the Boxcars started 3-2. They are currently a .500 team at 6-6 and will be attempting to earn the second winning season and first playoff appearance in Fargo history in the next four weeks.

[bc6fcf5c]Huntington Beach[/bc6fcf5c] - The Capitalists got off to a pretty good 4-2 start. They've cooled off recently, going 1-5 in their last 6, but are still only a game back in the division race.

[bc6fcf5c]Memphis[/bc6fcf5c] - After opening the season a pretty dreadful 0-3, Memphis rattled of 6 straight victories. If the season ended today, Memphis would make the playoffs as a wild card, thanks largely to the 6-3 start.

[bc6fcf5c]New Orleans[/bc6fcf5c] - New Orleans started 5-2 and currently lead their division. The possibility of a playoff meatholing is strong.

[bc6fcf5c]New York[/bc6fcf5c] - The Knights fell just short of their franchise best 8-2 start, making it to 7-2. All of the sudden they've lost 3 in a row, but they are still in good shape to make the playoffs.

[bc6fcf5c]Santa Cruz[/bc6fcf5c] - The Privateers started 1-5, just slightly better than their 2003 start of 1-6. This was a team that because of cap problems didn't have a ton of depth, so once the injuries hit they were doomed.

[bc6fcf5c]Seattle[/bc6fcf5c] - Seattle opened the year 3-4. They have been one of the most inconsistent teams this season, they haven't won or lost more than 2 in a row all year.
[bc6fcf5c]
Shreveport[/bc6fcf5c] - The Pride's 1-5 start was not their worst, that was 1-8 back in 2005.

[bc6fcf5c]Tucson[/bc6fcf5c] - Tucson got out to a decent 4-2 start. They are in position to make the playoffs for the fourth straight year.
