I know the official clock hasn't started, but again I think we REALLY need a rule against re-trading a pick if you acquire it while that pick is on the board.[/quote2e57dc0]

We have one. You have 30 minutes to make the pick or the trade once the trade is confimred. Technically the draft hasn't started so I don't see how it applies yet.[/quote2e57dc0]

It's just a principal thing for me. That a pick is on the clock, you trade for it, then turn around to trade it again? wtf? I just think it's wrong.[/quote2e57dc0]

Sorry but teams in the NFL do this as well. There's nothing illegal about it. Besides, the clock hasn't started yet.

If I haven't heard from JeeberD by noon central I'll make the pick.[/quote2e57dc0]

I wasn't going to chime in on this topic but so much for that...

NFL teams do this but do so on the clock, which is only how long? 15 minutes?

It's only illegal if you exceeded the time limit specified by the rules.

But since the clock hasn't started yet I don't know why we aren't spending more time discussing other stuff such as the talent taken so far in the draft.

I could easily be wrong, but I've never heard of NFL teams doing this - at least with 1st round picks..

And there's a big difference when we're talking about 10-15 minute time limits.

Leibert will be an interesting case. My scout wasn't at all impressed, but the combine numbers look great. I think he'll wind up panning out.

I haven't done a lot of testing with the revamped over/under rated thing, but this guy stood out to me as as a weird candidate to be considered very overrated.

I actually liked the Liebert pick based on the combine numbers & his bars. The fact that there is somewhat of a LB shortage also adds value to this pick.

I also was very impressed with Norton, the RCB. He had great combine numbers and he showed well in the position drill and percent developed.

I am not sure if he is worth the 3rd overall pick next year, but to each his own. *wrings hands together like a cartoon villain planning his evil plot* (Insert evil laughs here) [Camera pans away. Fade. Zoom in on unsuspecting Smurfs].

I was building my list for 1.21 this morning and got very annoyed that Liebert was taken.

I'm happy to get Norton even though CB isn't a big need for us. I decided to go with the best player available regardless of position. I was tempted to pick TE Ellis Talley, who I didn't even interview, but just couldn't pass on Norton - my scout liked him too much.

I do kinda wish I traded up a couple of spots - DE Osborne and DE Younger (1.12 and 1.13) look like great picks and I had them higher on my list than Norton.

I have a PM from Jeeber in which he told me he'll be away until Monday night. He gave me instructions on what to do if his pick comes up, but he didn't mention anything about a possible trade.

Despite Talley and Jones being there at 1.16, I made my trade for the 1.16 specifically for Leibert so I had to take him. His combine scores, his bars (who needs zone defense anyway?), and the fact that my scout (Excellent at LB's, Average at Young Talent) had him as very underrated made him a no-brainer. If Norton were still available it would have been a tough choice, as Norton was one of the few CB's I felt good about.

Based on our scouts, I now have absolutely no faith in the interview process. These scouts are different but not significantly so, at least not to the point of being at the opposite ends of the impression spectrum.

LVS: Lester Ashmore - LB=E YT=A Leibert rated Very Underrated.
BOI: Louie Dillow - LB=VG YT=VG Leibert rated Very Overrated

Oh, one more thing to mention about scouting, try looking at your interview results without the patch. I downloaded the latest file on my laptop that I haven't used for FOF2007 since Week 1 of 2013 and all of my impressions were way off. It was then that I realized that I didn't have the patch yet.

FWIW, my scout (Linebackers = Good, Young Talent = Fair) had Leibert as very overrated. I still think he was a good pick.

One thing that I'd be interested in knowing is how much some of the other things play into the scout rating. The scout could be taking into account things like cohesion which might make a player seem different from one team to another.

I think it'd be weird if it took chemistry or cohesion into account, but Leibert would have a conflict on my team, so who knows?

Hmmmm...

I think I need to post my scout's impression of the players drafted so far along with his ratings in that player's category. Mostly due to me finding it very interesting in what others are sharing about my guy and their scout.

After checking on this, neither Durham or Las Vegas should have an affinity or conflict with Liebert. So there goes that theory.

After much debate, I took FS Rodney Horton from Kansas. I really like his low Volatility, good Solecismic, bench press and agility. I estimate that he'll be a 30/70 player.

My scout HATED SS Rod Kelsay and rated him about 15 points lower than Horton.

There were quite a few other players I liked but they just weren't areas of great need.

I'm glad you took one of the Safeties.. because that is the one position where I don't need young talent, so it means one more guy i could use falls to me ;)..

We were glad to see Roy Jones fall to 1.18. He was 1 of 3 players I was willing to trade up to get. The others being Norten and Leibert. I think Jones will be a nice addition to the San Antonio offense behind a solid offensive line.

Ahhh. Music to my ears. Actually it has only taken about 6 seasons to find the heir to Chester Brumley's thrown in San Antonio.

I need to look again, but if I remember correctly I think I felt like Jones had the potential to be the best RB in this class.
