[b91eeb78]2015 Shreveport Pride Season Wrap-up[/b91eeb78]

2015 was a year of losses for the Shreveport Pride. Thirteen of them to be specific. If you add in the loss of TE [player]Ed Knutzen[/player] to injury and the retirements of MLB [player]Joshua Mask[/player] and RB [player]Burt Liszkiewicz[/player], you can add it up to 16 losses. Knutzen will be on IR for all of 2016 as well with his degenerative hip condition.

Despite all of the bad news, there was some good news. The Pride's first overall draft pick in 2015, QB [player]Carl Bradford[/player], showed some decent potential in 2015 starting all 16 games. Bradford was, however, prone to fumbling the ball and made a bunch of rookie mistakes. Shreveport has indicated that he will be visiting the Solecismique League this summer to help refine his skills.

Another bright spot was 5th round draft pick RG [player]Wesley Carden[/player] stepping up and starting for the Pride. The coaches believe that they now have a good young O-Line to develop in front of Bradford with the likes of [player]Dexter Cooley[/player], [player]James Perez[/player], [player]Gus Schanne[/player] and [player]J.B. Gragg[/player] in the trenches with Carden.

In 2015, the Pride's defense was awful. Only a couple of bright spots shone through in the forms of SS [player]Austin Torres[/player] and LDE [player]Kent Rodriguez[/player]. The rest of the defense will need some work be it through free agency or the draft. Unfortunately, the Pride does not have it's first or second round draft picks going into 2016 as those picks were traded away to get Bradford in 2015. The road of rebuilding can often be long, but GM Raven Hawk assures us that the Pride hopes to return to it's prominent place in the Division by 2017. As for 2016 . . . it will be along year full of talent evaluation.
