DALLAX, TX - A large contingent of Texas faithful gathered with reporters today to hear the announcement of who Texas would be selecting with the first pick of the 2017 draft. There was a great deal of speculation that Texas might trade the pick, but in the end Texas announced their intent to draft DE sensation Dustin Cineux.

"We talked to all the top players, but we were really impressed with Dustin. Not only did he perform extremely well at the combine, but he expressed a great deal of enthusiasm about working with the legendary [player]Ronnie Huey[/player], who has been one of his idols since high school, " Coach DeFelice reported to the ecstatic Sundevil fans.

Many thought that if Texas did keep the pick they would draft a quarterback, most likely Brent Caputo. However, earlier this morning Charleston revealed the deal that would bring QB [player]Luther Wylder[/player] to Texas and it was clear that the Sundevils' management had something else in mind.

"We're also very excited to have Luther joining the team, and I assure you that he is ecstatic about coming to Texas." Wylder has been in the shadow of the great [player]Donnie Lowe[/player] in Charleston and by all reports has been looking for a starting opportunity elsewhere.

Wylder spoke briefly with press at the trade announcement earlier today: "I'll miss these guys and there is absolutely no bad blood here at all. I'm just looking to make an impact, and Donnie has things covered here, so it just seemed like a logical move."

Fans seemed pleased with the pick, especially knowing that both ends of the defensive line were going to be monsters. But fan Darrel Simmons perhaps summed the general consensus in Texas up best.

"I don't care if they draft Miley Cyrus, so long as it helps us win some f-ing football games."
