[b552a11d][u552a11d]TAMPA BAY TORPEDOES MEDIA REPORT[/b552a11d][/u552a11d]
Tampa Bay, FL (AP): The Tampa Bay Torpedoes traveled to play the Shreveport Pride and won by the final score of 31-13. Torpedoes RB [player]Jerome Strickland[/player] was named MVP as he recorded 47 carries for 191 yards (4.1 Ypc) with 2 TD's and 4 receptions for 29 yards (7.3 Ypc). Offensively, the Torpedoes pounded the ball out on the ground, but their passing game was limited. The Torpedoes allowed 2 sacks and turned the ball over twice. The Torpedoes made key 3rd down conversions. The Torpedoes scored 17 points on 3 trips to the Red Zone. The Torpedoes dominated the time of possession and were in control of this game. Defensively, the Torpedoes were dominant as they held the Pride to 243 total yards of offense. The Torpedoes forced 3 turnovers. The Torpedoes shutdown the Pride on 3rd down. The Torpedoes allowed 13 points on 2 trips to the Red Zone. The Torpedoes sit in last place of the AC ATLANTIC, but the division is still up for grabs for all the teams. The Torpedoes (3-4) host the San Antonio Stingers (2-5) next week and need to find a way to win this game. Can the Torpedoes win at home or will the Stingers find a way to win on the road to end a 2 game losing streak?

Torpedoes Head Coach, Alvin Peterson had these comments after the game, "We came out today and were able to impose our will on the opposing defense on their own field. When we play like we did today, we are a tough team to beat. We need to find a way to maintain our momentum heading forward. The AC ATLANTIC is still up for grabs and we need to find a way to make this our year to to win the division title for the 1st time since 2015. We will review the game film and make the necessary adjustments to put us in a better position to win our games. We host the San Antonio Stingers next week and need to find a way to win this game to keep in contention for the AC ATLANTIC division title. We need to set the tone early on defense, get our ground game going with a full head of steam, and protect the ball if we want to have a shot at winning this game!"
