Meatholes finds himself mired in a battle of mediocrity in the Deep South, a division in which he once was king. Now, it's New Orleans and San Antonio looking up at a solid Shreveport squad. Let's take a look and see what Holes did for the Horde in the 2020 draft...

[b211467a]1.03[/b211467a]
DE - Rusty Chandler
North Carolina
6'6" 300

[img211467a]http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_RVLfSMIB7K0/S ... nn_200.jpg[/img211467a]

Many though Chandler had the goods to be the best player in the draft so imagine MeatHoles surprise to see him sweating it out with his agent when the 1.03 rolled around and Chandler wasn't a pro yet. Supposedly, Chandler cannot play the run like a legit #1 overall should but that's where the scouts are wrong. Chandler's combine and his performance at North Carolina indicate he can play the run and do so as well as the best at his position. Chandler's a stud. MeatHoles got a steal by paying the 1.01 number three money. Some have set a low ceiling for Chandler and there's plenty of reason to suspect he'll crash through that ceiling in his first year. You say bookend tackles, I say Rusty Chandler.

[b211467a]1.22[/b211467a]
RB - Viktor Miknich
Indiana
6'1" 238

[img211467a]http://www2.indystar.com/autofocus/phot ... 143504.jpg[/img211467a]

There were some groans and gasps as Vic "Picnic" Miknich was selected late in the first. We fall into the group that doesn't think he's one sandwich shy of a picnic and believe he will excel at the pro level. His one knock his is low hole recognition but he has the elsuiveness, hands, and blocking required to be a CFL back. He's well-developed and will continue to improve provided he gets the opportunity.

[b211467a]2.19[/b211467a]
LT - Cornelius Tozer
Missouri
6'5" 325

[img211467a]http://www.journalstar.com/content/arti ... 278914.jpg[/img211467a]

New Orleans must have been looking for attitude with the 2.19 selection because they got that in spades with the Bulldozer. Tozer is either a homocidal maniac or suffers from acute roid rage. His blocking skills are 1st round talent but he falls short in the strength department and his volatility can be a liability. Even though he is physically strong, it doesn't seem to translate on the field. The Bulldozer discovered infamy when he ripped his helmet off and was warned not to throw it by officials. He complied but then picked up an opponent and threw him. We can't wait to see Tozer in action in the Deep South.

[b211467a]3.03[/b211467a]
CB - Roger Silva
Clemson
6'0" 204

[img211467a]http://media.collegepublisher.com/media ... fa-1-1.jpg[/img211467a]

The CFL's quarterbacks are going to have a tough time in the coming years. Many of the top CB talents this year have excellents hands. Silva is just another one of the CB's leaving his college career behiind with interception records in tow. Silva was one of the best CB's to ever play at Clemson with records in passes defensed, interceptions, and defensive TD's. Silva is a solid corner with great cover skills, soft hands, and a motor that never quits.

[b211467a]3.07[/b211467a]
CB - Graham Hagemann
Georgia
5'10" 189

[img211467a]http://alt.coxnewsweb.com/cnishared/too ... 0_pd11.JPG[/img211467a]

Just when the Horde has enough picks to reload the team, Hagemann gets taken in the early 3rd. Hagemann is ok at best and a weak corner at worst. His saving grace is his ability to return punts and play special teams. This is the first (and probably only) let down in Holes' 2020 draft.

[b211467a]4.21[/b211467a]
WR - Russell Barajas
Georgia
5' 11" 184

[img211467a]http://www.onlineathens.com/images/111107/27088_223.jpg[/img211467a]

MeatHoles gets back on track with the second half of his Georgia daily double with WR Barajas. Barajas has it all: hands, the ability to make plays after the catch, route running skills, the ability to adjust to the ball, and the knowledge of the position. If he can learn to use his speed and stay away from the underage girls, Barajas can make an impact at the next level.

[b211467a]5.18[/b211467a]
QB - Richie Munoz
Wayne State
6'6" 226

[img211467a]http://media.collegepublisher.com/media ... hx07n6.jpg[/img211467a]

Munoz got plenty of practice running for his life. At 6'6" you'd think he would be able to stay in the pocket and see the field well but he never got the chance at Wayne State. Munoz couldn't make the combine and his paycheck may feel the impact but this kid can run an offense, make accurate throws when given the opportunity, and can save anything with his legs. He didn't make all of the pro throws consistently at his pro day at Nebraska but he could still represent a value pick in the 5th round.

[b211467a]5.21[/b211467a]
RB - Gilbert Taylor
Fresno State
5'10" 212

[img211467a]http://www.csufresno.edu/Collegian/arch ... 06_web.jpg[/img211467a]

This Fresno State product is everything a GM wants in a change of pace back or backup. Taylor has vision and the ability to threaten defense coming out of the backfield. He's also a workhorse that has the balls to do anything he is asked to do. Hopefully he can find a spot in this crowded backfield.

[b211467a]6.20[/b211467a]
WR - Britt Hargett
Texas A&M
6'2" 223

[img211467a]http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/0aR ... y/340x.jpg[/img211467a]

Britt "The Target" Hargett could be considered one of the best value picks made by New Orleans in this draft. At 6'2" he has pro size and can challenge some of the Deep South's young corners. The Target has good speed (especially for a white dude), knows the position really well, and is well rounded for a WR selected in the 6th round. He will easily out perform many WR's taken before him. Look for Hargett to challenge for a starting spot come opening day.

[b211467a]7.19[/b211467a]
OLB - Adam Caldwell
Missouri
6'2" 248

[img211467a]http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/0dE ... j/610x.jpg[/img211467a]

Caldwell has a couple of things going for him. First, he has good speed and is well developed for a kid his age. Second, he is getting his opportunity on a less-than-lethal Horde linebacking corpse (pun intended). Caldwell's leadership at Missouri was an asset and his controlled rage will be an asset at the next level. Playing like a madman is good when you can turn it off after the whistle. He might just need to help the Bulldozer in this department.

These are great. The pictures add a lot. Tozer has not signed a contract yet, so he is starting off with an attitude. It must be the steriod clause we added.

Thanks for the analysis TT, I can't disagree with much at this point. Camp will tell us alot. I felt we needed to take chances on a couple of guys, and hopefully it pans out. The picks I feel the best about are the ones that we just grabbed the best athlete at that pick. The ones that I worry about are the ones we tried to fill a void.

This is a competitive division so we needed a good draft to get back in the division title race. That and a little luck avoiding the injury bug.

Bulldozer Tozer and Target Hargett I think are names that could stick. We will take them through camp and see if they earn the titles. :D
