This step-by-step guide should simplify how to set up FOF in CFL mode without overwriting anything in your current FOF league set-up.

PLEASE NOTE: Once you run the savegame converter and upgrade to 6.3 the locations for MP league files that are referenced below will change. If you are on XP it will be someplace like C:Documents and SettingsOwnerApplication DataSolecismic SoftwareFront Office Football 2007. If you are on Vista it may look like: Users/your_profile_name/AppData. In Windows 7 it will be in: C:UsersOwnerAppDataRoamingSolecismic SoftwareFront Office Football 2007. These are the new locations you'll need to unzip all future league files to. For additional help upgrade help, see http://operationsports.com/fofc/showthread.php?t=76127

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or post in here:

1. Create a backup of your universe file by creating a new folder (Ex: C:Program FilesSolecismic SoftwareFront Office Football 2007Default)
2. Copy current contents of your universe file and paste in the "Default" folder (Do NOT cut and paste; DO copy and paste)
3. Create a CFL Folder within your main game directory (Example: C:Program FilesSolecismic SoftwareFront Office Football 2007)
4. Download the city files from http://thecfl.us/universe.zip
5. Unzip the city files folder in your CFL Folder (Example: C:Program FilesSolecismic SoftwareFront Office Football 2007CFL)
6. Download the logo files from http://thecfl.us/logos.zip
7. Unzip the logos to your CFL folder
8. Download the league start-up file from http://thecfl.us/cfl_export.zip
9. Unzip the game file into your leagues folder within the main game directory (Example: C:Program FilesSolecismic SoftwareFront Office Football 2007leagues
10. Download the league stat-files from http://thecfl.us/files.html You can grab them individually, or grab the big file that contains them all. If you're just starting with the CFL, the latter would probably be more efficient.
11. Unzip these stat-files into your leagues folder within the main game directory (Example: C:Program FilesSolecismic SoftwareFront Office Football 2007leagues)
12. Open up Notepad or Wordpad and copy the following text into it:

copy CFLfrfoot.fni universe
copy CFLfrfoot.fcy universe
copy CFL*.bmp pictures
start frfoot2007.exe

13. Save this file as CFL.bat within your main game directory (Example: C:Program FilesSolecismic SoftwareFront Office Football 2007)
14. Right-click your newly created .bat file and click "Copy Shortcut" and send to desktop*
15. Step 11 should create a new icon on your desktop. You can rename this icon CFL if you should so wish.
16. Open up Notepad or Wordpad and copy the following text into it:

copy Defaultfrfoot.fni universe
copy Defaultfrfoot.fcy universe
copy Default*.bmp pictures
start frfoot2007.exe

17. Save this file as Default.bat within your main game directory (Example: C:Program FilesSolecismic SoftwareFront Office Football 2007)
18. Right-click your newly created .bat file and click "Copy Shortcut" and send to desktop
19. Step 16 should create a new icon on your desktop. You can rename this icon "Default" if you should so wish.
20. Double click on the CFL icon to open the game
21. Verify that you have latest patch installed. (6.4 as of October 2010)
22. Click on the multiplayer icon in the upper right hand corner of the game screen (face-looking icon, 3rd from right)
23. Click on "Enter New Career"
24. For the League ID number, enter '00856001'
25. Choose the team assigned to you by the league
26. Click Begin without draft
27. Click Load Game and Select the League ID-Team Name game which you just created
28. Enter the 6-digit password sent by the league commish and click ok
29. Enjoy!

If you have Microsoft Vista, you must make sure that you run the batch files as administrator. If you have Windows XP or any other previous version of Windows you need not worry about this.[/i][/url]

For additional reference, I'm including my script which I use to launch the game for different leagues.
I know I posted this a few seasons ago, but if we are going to sticky this post I figured it would be nice to have both sets of guides here.

Basically, you create a folder with the correct images and files and create a batch file for each league. This way you just launch the program using the correct batch file and you get the images and team names for the correct league.

Below is the script to copy and paste into the batch file. The dark red text you would need to change to the appropriate folder name you use for each set of league files.

[i68468ff][color=darkblue68468ff]c:
cd "C:Program FilesSolecismic SoftwareFront Office Football 2007universe"

copy "C:Program FilesSolecismic SoftwareFront Office Football 2007universe[/color68468ff][color=darkred68468ff]CFL[/color68468ff][color=darkblue68468ff]frfoot.fcy" /y

copy "C:Program FilesSolecismic SoftwareFront Office Football 2007universe[/color68468ff][color=darkred68468ff]CFL[/color68468ff][color=darkblue68468ff]frfoot.fni" /y

cd..

cd pictures

copy "C:Program FilesSolecismic SoftwareFront Office Football 2007universe[/color68468ff][color=darkred68468ff]CFL[/color68468ff][color=darkblue68468ff]*.bmp" /y

cd..

start FrFoot2007.exe[/i68468ff][/color68468ff]

So I got to step 27 and when i go to load the game i get the message "unable to load game data file. Saved game missing." Not sure what to do here. The only other problem I have is all the teams are still named the NFL teams (I choose the Rams since I'm suppsoe to be St.Louis). Not sure what I've done wrong as I've put all the files under:

C:Program FilesSolecismic SoftwareFront Office Football 2007

in their corresponding folders.

Any help is appreciated.

ok made my patch but the game does not load automatically it looks like this:

c:
cd "C:Documents and SettingsOliverApplication DataSolecismic SoftwareFront Office Football 2007universe"

copy "C:Documents and SettingsOliverApplication DataSolecismic SoftwareFront Office Football 2007universeCFLfrfoot.fcy" /y

copy "C:Documents and SettingsOliverApplication DataSolecismic SoftwareFront Office Football 2007universeCFLfrfoot.fni" /y

cd..

cd pictures

copy "C:Documents and SettingsOliverApplication DataSolecismic SoftwareFront Office Football 2007universeCFL*.bmp" /y

cd..

start FrFoot2007.exe
-----------------------------------

game is installed in C:gamesFront Office Football

running CFL.bat from that directory

also when i do then load up the game, i go to multiplayer mode (persons face)
enter in league id, select Detroit Vampires and load up the game

i then do not see all of the game data for this league. it just has the basic league data that comes with the game

what have i done wrong?

i believe i have followed all of the steps as above. Created a CFL file and have extracted all of the information in that file. Then run the .bat file before starting

please help

All of the league files are located here:

http://www.thecfl.us/files.html

Also make sure that you've downloaded the most recent simulation file from the Week 5 thread (Week 6 is tonight).

K...have downloaded everything to my computer, but when I load the game its giving me my other leagues cities instead of CFL. I saved cities to:

C:Program Files (x86)Solecismic SoftwareFront Office Football 2007CFL

Or should it have gone to:
C:Usersamy juradoAppDataRoamingSolecismic SoftwareFront Office Football 2007

Bear from VNFL set my other league up, so I have no clue which of these two folders it should be going to. It may also be the batchfile...the batch does open the game, just not getting correct cities.

ugh.. I have to redo the set up for reasons I won't go into; at any rate, the procedure up above has some dead links in it, I think, the link for the city, nickname, and logo files just end up at a weird looking page that basically says wrong place; did you type the address right; anyone know where to get the files, so I can get going again?
thanks

Call me dumb but I don't have a universe file? I looked in the folder but didn't have one around that I could find. Any tips?

There is a universe folder in C:/Users/YourName/App Data/Roaming/Solecismic Software/

This is if you have windows 7 or Vista.

Please advise if you have another operating system.

I believe that should say "Universe folder" not "file." In XP you can find it in the Program Files/Solecismic Software folder. It should contain the frfoot.fni and frfoot.fcy files.

Yeah it is pretty simple just make sure that you go to the folder options and show hidden files.

leagues and universe will both be in the solescmic directory

I get stuck on
25. Choose the team assigned to you by the league
The team list has the teams that came with the software.

I'm guessing I did something wrong with 9.
At the point of 9., there were 2 folders in here
C:\Program Files\Solecismic Software\Front Office Football 2007
called CFL and Pictures
So I created a folder called leagues and put unzipped folder cfl_export there.
C:\Program Files\Solecismic Software\Front Office Football 2007\leagues\cfl_export

Then I showed hidden files for
C:\Program Files\Solecismic Software\Front Office Football 2007
and I didn't see anything ELSE called leagues - did I wipe it out when I created a leagues folder?

Any other ideas?

What version of Windows do you have? If you have Windows 7 you may need to look instead in the "Roaming" folder for your FOF/leagues directory.
