Some other football league might have their draft in the next few days, but who cares about that? The new CFL website now includes the
past 3 CFL drafts (2033-2035) with player ratings (initial compared to current). It's interesting to see the booms/busts after a couple of years. For example:
2033 - year of the center
2-1 C
Jeff Hansen (now 95/95, quite better than 2-2 pick LB
Sammie Gilmore who is 12/12)
6-22 C
Raymond Spurgeon (now rated 62/64 in his first season as a starter)
2034 had some highly rated skill position players in later rounds:
2-16 TE
R.J. Alston (59/73)
2-29 WR
Leon Bailey (50/59)
2-32 TE
Phillip Hines (59/59)
3-3 WR
Lionel McGregor (48/48)
3-20 FS
Austin Robertson (53/53)
4-26 WR
Cornell Ramo (43/43)
5-16 CB
Deion Heath (52/52)
6-11 TE
Ed Allen (45/53)
And then there are the busts:
2033:
1-17 LB
Peter Walker (25/35)
1-24 CB
Quentin Bell (34/34)
2-22 DE
Arnold Lane (1/2)
2-28 NT Hugh Kempe (retired)
2034:
1-18 SS
Vincent McGee (25/38)
2035:
1-10 LB
Trevor McSheffrey (7/28)
For me, my favorite pick has to be RB
David Browning who I got at 4-28 in 2034. He may only be rated 39/39, but he was rookie of the year last season and is averaging 4.9 yards per carry so far this year.
