[i67d80b5](Boston Globe)[/i67d80b5] - There were smiles all around today as the Boston Panthers announced the signing of #1 pick (#14 overall) Claude McCullough to a 4 year deal, right before the start of training camp. Terms were not disclosed.

"We are very excited to have Claude in the fold, and expect him to have a significant part in our success this year" said GM flere-imsaho.

"I'm so happy to get this settled before training camp" said a clearly excited McCullough. "This looks like a great team, and I want to be as involved in this season as I can."

McCullough is unlikely to dislodge Panthers' starters Will Rodriguez and Harris Sampson this season, but could have a starting role in 2006, and will provide excellent insurance for the secondary.
