GG Death Valley. Both of our offenses were pretty efficient in this one but yours was just better. Not sure if that is a sign of the defenses lacking or offenses being good. Not going to fret over this loss but would have been nice to start out with a division win on the road.

At Denver and wow have they put together a D, I normally pick out a few players I want to target and they just had nothing to go after.

Two carries to the rookie bust Borders and a sack started things off for6 us, DEN converts 2 nice 3rds before ole boy Warhurst gets us once again for 6. Fulton gets a rolling but we throw pick on 3rd and it is returned 81 yards for the TD. We come out firing and battle our way past midfield once again despite continuing ot give Borders carries with his 5 for 12 stat line for pin them at ht e1 with a great punt. Warhurst gets them out of another 3rd and htey manage to switch the field on us.

Crabtree does his thing ut we take another sack in the orange one and are lucky to hit the long FG. Our rush derails DEN and they recover a strip sackl and this time w etackle Warhurst short of hte sticks on 3rd. Fulton and Crabtree get us to idfield and this time Sheldon grabs one down the sideline and the young TE Schultz rumbles for a TD. DEN goes 3andO on the 4 minute drill so we get another chance with more than 2 minutes left DE pass rush and Crabtree duke it but we get into FG range wiht a minute left and he burns them from there to put us up 3.

DEN on O has seemed to sputter and our formula on O is working slowly but steadily at the half.

We get another stop on Warhurst heavy drive and are lucky to recover our punt fumble (still struggling with that) we pin them inside their 10 and get good field position on our nexxt possession, things become a punt fest for the rest of ht ethird.

BUt DEN gets their othe rreceiving options involved early in the 4th march down to retake the lead. Back to back sacks knock us backwards 21 yards and DEN takes over on our side of the field. Our D holds up after one conversion so DEN goes up 7 as former Fargo Kicker ONeal hits it. The pass rush in eh 2nd half has cut our ypa in half and we go 3andO once more. Den can not do much so we get another hance pretty quickly, we opt ot punt with a 4th and 2 with the clock now inside of 6 mintues. Our does its job again and the O will get now get a 4th chance to score since going down Crabtree bails us on oen third and the rookie Fence catches his first target for another conversion but a few plays later Woodard throws his 2nd pick. We actually get it back with 1 TO at our own 12 and 1:32 left but another pick really ends it this time.

Very nice Baldy.

Well we overtargetted Crabtree as is often the case and Woodard has shown a history of throwing picks especially early in the season. So no panic but some adjustments will be needed.

A very even game, metricswise but we had the 3 TOs . Crabtree doubled us Warhurst with similar usage but DEs pass rush got home 6 times victimiing our power right side that we hesitantly jsut extended this offseason. LB Sutter finally gets to shine in our new 43 and he did ont dissapoint with 10 tackles and 5 assists and former EDGE Alexander thrived in his new hybrid role. DENs 5 drops helped us keep things close.

We lsot SS Watkins for a bit and last eyars freak INT performer Brewer is still holding out but we were lucky enough to trade Foley so we will likely have ot switch to being a single high team so expect some more heat with our rush.

At La-Z-Boy Stadium in Detroit, an air of excitement wrapped the crowd gathered to watch the new era of the Vampires under GM zenzog and Head Coach Matthew Perkins. A decade of disappointment and ownership finally took action, cleaning out the front office and declaring that they would take a reduced role in day to day management of the team.

At his first press conference GM zenzog paid homage to the greats, saying, "This is the house that fantastic flying froggies, Harry Garrett, and Shane Hall built. We'll remind the CFL of that."

In the offseason, the Vampires let several big pieces walk in DE Dominique Jeffries and WR Al Boone and traded WR Victor Caldwell, C Pedro Cooley, OT Louie Winslett. All contributors to the team in 2056 leaving large holes in the roster, but the reports of new Vampires came in starting with an eye popping $190M/4 year deal for OLB Hunter Fulton (who likely won't play a single snap for the team in 2057). Then, it was DE Scott Gradkowski signing a $78M/4 year deal. Next, C Bruce Entman, OLB Lionel McConnell, and TE Oliver Sims calling Detroit home. It was clear that things would be different in Motor City.

When the draft began, the team was already looking very different to the sub 0.500 rosters of recent past. The Vampires had big names and flashy signings, but were the draft picks going to be all bubble and no bath? Seemingly not, as GM zenzog let cooler heads prevail and drafted OT Andres Such (1.17), CB Roy Irwin (1.16), and RB Taylor Murray (3.15), emphasizing the goal of drafting for value. All three players made the final 53-man roster and will even start from week one. Many analysts power rated Detroit in the top 10 saying now was the time to see what FS Luis Anthony, DE Riley Gray, NT Gage Schindlbeck, and ILB Avery Agustoni could do now they had time to gel.

So, how did we look against Cleveland?

The first drive was about the cleanest one could ask for, with QB Mitchem going 5/5 for 60 yards, RB Murray rushing twice for 15 yards, and WR Stevenson catching a 23 yard touchdown. Then the much maligned defense takes the field for Cleveland's first drive and it looks like the same old story as QB Kaczor drove up the field and responded immediately. Excitement turned to despair as QB Mitchem was unable to keep drives alive while QB Kaczor and Cleveland's ground game would go on to rack up 17 more points, capitalizing on a horrific fumble by QB Mitchem just before the end of the first half.

The defense tightened up in the second half, only allowing 78 yards before TE Voinovich left the game with a knee injury and a failed 4th down conversion sealed the deal. The Vampires were unable to reach even the red zone in 60 minutes of play with QB Mitchem finishing 19 of 42 for 216 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, RB Taylor Murray collecting 57 yards on 19 rushes, and TE Voinovich on 5 catches for 64 yards.

Next week, La-Z-Boy Stadium will host the Las Vegas Rounders and blockbuster trade target RB Alonzo Gmerek coming off an overtime thriller. Hopefully the rust will be off by then.

Normally, a victory over Hartford is met with a parade in Atlantic City. However, with a bit of turmoil at the Attack HQ, squeaking by 23-17 is nothing to celebrate.

It is a bit sad to see Hartford being down this year. Only 44 players on the roster and $244 million in cap space. I hope that Masked comes back to build this franchise once again,

Masked contacted me and is taking a break this season for personal reasons but will be back in full force next season.

Great game Redstorm. You can't expect everything to go right when you play a team as good as Boise City. We got up early, 21-9 at the half. We just were unable to put any points up in the 2nd half, mainly because we had difficulty converting on 3rd downs.

Boise was able to shut the run down for the most part, put us in a few too many 2nd and longs. We had a chance in the final 2 minutes of the game. 4th and 5 from the 7 yard line, down by 5 - and the best TE in the game drops it! Ugh he couldn't believe it either.

I think we learned something this game, no loss feels good but we did some good things, and we battled with a great team.

GG and good luck the rest of the season.

GG Putty Tats

Last minute trades always screw me up or at least that what I'm saying it was. It can't be because I suck at game plans. Couldn't make a third down to save my life, my Secondary gets torched by an 80 year old QB. Back to the drawing board.

I was on the edge of my seat until the end of that one (any time I have to survive by having an 84 ovr drops a 4th and 5, I probably don't deserve to win lol).

Remember when I was a little spooked by your team last year? Yeah it looks better this year and we might have taken a step back

I'm not sure if Kendrick Fraaije missed his 3rd pass until the 3rd quarter and I haven't had my passing game stopped quite like that in any regular season game

Your team looks great and i'm not sure if I can get lucky with the same BS to get by you next time but I'm wishing you good luck for the rest of the season!

Yea yea I remember, unfortunately we are 0-3 vs you guys since you said that! I think we are improved, but its still the toughest division in the cfl so lets see how it shakes out at the end, thanks for the kind words.

I have a feeling the ROF will see a lot of these close games this year.

We came out of the gates with a complete game, all phases of our game were clicking today in route to a 35-7 win, a huge win to open up the season against a divisional foe, happy to get this W on our side of the ledger.

GG fakejasongarret. Something about the way your offense ran seemed very familiar to me. See you again in the future and good luck the rest of the season.

Happy to make your day FlexD :D

Back to the drawing board for me. GMs don’t get sacked in MP, right?

I liked your approach with the Slot receiver role  . I might be ‘borrowing’ a little from your PlayBook next season.

Good luck in the playoffs

A tale of two halves.

We never recovered from the sack fumble in the 3rd.

GG, Bob. Was surprised to get a win this week especially since the 80 year old quarterback had full rust after I forgot to get him some preseason action. I was impressed with our 3rd down defense. Our run game left something to be desired, though. Always good to get a win over a division opponent for a home opener. Hopefully we can repeat that feat a few times this year.
