Good hard fought game Ushikawa, its a bummer we were both missing our quarterbacks for this game. We had this game circled since the scheduling came out and its unfortunate we couldn't face each other at full strength.

Never the less we weren't going to use that as an excuse and came out hot in the first quarter. We were able to score on our first three possessions thanks to our defense giving us really good field position. We were hoping that would force Fargo to start throwing more but they stuck to their guns and continued to pound the ball with much success.

I thought Fargo QB Gino Schafluetzel played very well given the circumstances, considering we do have a pretty good Pass D. We were able to win the turnover battle which was probably the only reason we ended up winning the game. That and the 11 penalties really put Fargo in a tough spot.

Cheers and good luck the rest of the season!

Post subject:  Durham hangs on for a 20-14 win vs Detroit

Durham, N.C. --

Durham C Hunter Dubester was the difference in a game played largely on the ground, winning game MVP honors by the AP. The Vampires were coming into this week top 5 in rushing defense, but the Bulldogs running back duo of C.J. Russell and Skip Langenberg collecting 253 offensive yards was due in large part to their stout offensive line.

The Bulldogs may have been planning for a balanced attack, but QB Mackie threw an interception in the end zone on his third throw of the game after RB Russell moved the ball 37 yards upfield, and the rest of the game leaned heavily on RBs Russell and Langenberg.

Detroit RBs Arbogast and Marsh were able to match some of that ground production with 129 between them and leading receiver TE Voinovich picked up 113 yards on 7 catches, but it was a 63 yard catch and run from RB Langenberg that put the game away. RB Russell finally punched the ball in and the Bulldogs never let go of the lead.

QB Mitchem had the opportunity for a sensational comeback when the defense put the ball in his hands with 2 minutes to go down 6 points, but the Bulldogs defense came up big at the 28 yard line, hurrying Mitchem, defending passes, and even knocking balls out of receivers' hands.

Detroit hosts St. Louis next week and Durham stays home to play Baltimore.

Yup Mac coulda been a good one but 3 TOs is too many even though our D did limit the damage as much as possible. For me when we gave up that big run in the 4th it just killed any chance we might have, 3rd time now we have yielded that kinda play late.

Was fun to face Spradling, he is the same guy 8/10 not much explosion but great in high leverage situations.

Biggest surprise was our total lack of pass rush as we lost Alexander for several games now along with Bays but are getting back Crabtree and Watkins so this injury plagued season continues to be a challenge.

Yea, I think my eyes about rolled in the back of my head after that int hit, lol. Our defense has been saving our butt in the games we have come away with so far this season. GL the rest of the season.
