1.1 Shaun Sanderson - WR

The highly touted rookie was the cream of the crop for WRs and he's been compared favorably to the legendary WR Dole which made him the clear choice for the Privateers to pair with last year's first round QB Darusmont.

TC - 50/68

1.18 Luis Morton - RB

Image

In an effort to upgrade the running game with legendary RB Jeff Fulton being released by the team, Cheesehead takes a bit of a gamble with Morton as the scouting department loved the kid with what they saw on film. The Privateers have been going all-in on the offensive side of the ball early on with this and other first round picks in recent years in hopes to jump start what has been a very poor offense to date.

TC - 38/53

2.1 Bob Hanks - C

Image

The top rated C in the draft fell magically to Santa Cruz and they scooped him up gleefully. With incumbent starter Skip Hancock nearing retirement, the Privateers needed to get his successor and Bob was the easy choice. This pick helps solidify the OL for many years and will undoubtedly help Darusmont and Morton.

TC - 47/86

3.1 Dana Carpenter - DE

Image

Cheesehead was looking for pass rushing help and got some with a DE who had really great combine numbers. Dana looks to get into the rotation and help create some pass rush that was fairly non-existent last season.

TC - 32/54

4.1 Ricardo Clinton - CB

Image

The Privateers realized last season that they needed more depth as their top 3 CBs lost a combined 15 games due to injury last season. Ricardo was another combine star that has some outstanding ball hawking skills and also will help out in the return game and ST.

TC - 27/41

5.1 Neal Hickman - ILB

Image

Needing some more depth at ILB, Neal looks to convert over to this spot from the OLB he played in college and his combine looks to be a real plus to move inside. Compared to other ILB, his combine was very favorable and Cheese hopes he got a diamond in the rough here.

TC - 29/42

6.1 Jake Malecki - TE

Image

Looking to get some additional run blocking in the TE corps, Jake brings some solid help there along with some good receiving skills.

TC - 23/37

7.1 J.R. Adams - DE

Image

Some more pass rushing help with a pure technique rusher for some change of pace on the DL.

TC - 24/41
