Another year, another LVS - FAR showdown...we went run heavy and will be dropping 8 a good bit. Hope we don't get embarassed...

A poor KO gives us decent field position but we go dust, dust, hurry. LVS starts pinned but drops back anyways and dinks their way to FG range, they recover 2 fumbles on the drive before the kicker receives an ovation for hitting the 53 yard FG. The run game is grinding and our WRs bail us out of a holding call and Holzer does most of the work on the way to the end zone. Another sack leads to a LVS 3rd and long INT at midfield to close the 1st.

We get stood up on 3rd and short and we also hit a 53 yard FG. Rayburn breaks loose for nearly 40 yards and they mix it up nicely but S Watkins defends the 3rd and short pass and we block the short FG attempt. Crabtree is having a nice game at 4/4 with all his catches moving the chains as our running gains dries up a bit and Fence bets a double for a 41 yard YAC TD. TE Schweitzer drops the deep shot and we stuff them on 3rd and short and take over inside oru 10 for a 4 minute drill but we can't convert 3rd and short either. TE Schweizer drops another deep shot and we get it back just inside of 2 minutes, we get a couple Crabtree grabs downfield despite a consecutive drops and add on a FG. LVS gets a nice KR and ten a face mask call but McKNight throws another pick.

2 sacks, 2 INTs this switch to a 34 may finally be paying off. Great to see a vintage game from Crabtree as well and neihter team can convert 3rd and short. Wonder hwo things would look if LVS had their normal starting TE in there.

We get a 1st down sack but they run it on 3rd and medium and Gmrek breaks loose for 27. Orr seconary sniffs out the short stuff though and they come away empty handed pinning us at out 3. Holzer and Crabtree get us out with no trouble and LVS' vaunted rush finally shows up ona 3rd down. 3 straight completions form McKnight get them across midfield but then we tighten up in coverage and rushing so once again they are stranded in the orange zone. Holzer moves the chains twice for us and a frsutrated LVS defense gets caught on a facemask call before Crabtree breaks loose for a big TD to put us up 24. A ground and a YAC chunk get LVS into FG range quick but we tighten up in the RZ and they opt for a FG facing a 4th and 3 at our 6.

We can't grind out a 1st on the ground and whie we are yielding yards on teh ground our 3rd down D shows up once more and we take over at our 1. Nothing doing ofr us but the clock is down inisde of 10 minutes as LVS takes over in our territory. Takes just over a minute for McKnight to get his TD. And we get strip sacked on the first play with LVS taking over at our 25. Maligned misfit Bradford has consecutive passes deflected though and they opt for a FG (phew!) and miss. We can't move it in clockkilling mode at LVS takes over with 4 minutes left. Our rush is getting through more often than not but Gmrek has 2 conversions for LVS before they run out of ideas at the 2 minute mark ending things.

Wow...prolly our most decisive win over LVS since McKnight took over. Got real nervous when they got that trip sack but think we are finally figuring out our new D. They were twice as effective on the ground but we were twice as effective in the air and we get a nice win to battle our way back to .500

They whupped us in 1st downs and neither team was even average on 3rd but our pass D was just too dominant both rushing and in coverage and they went an atrocious 1/1 on 4 RZ possessions.

GG Turf, will we once again meet twice in the season?

I think you hit some key points there. Missing Finch has made a real impact. While he is not an elite TE, he is key to our offense and his absence is taking its toll.

I don't know wtf I did to my offensive GP but we should not be throwing 58 times in a game. Ideally, that would be 2 games' worth of attempts. We should have considerably more rush attempts as well, as we exploited your run D for huge gains more than once.

We also had way too many short and long passes. I'm not sure I'm even going to try to troubleshoot it and will just burn that GP. I don't remember the last time we were that inefficient in the RZ.

Also, switching back and forth between kickers ends this week. May be time for the rookie to get the reins the rest of the way.

GG and GL the rest of the way. Hopefully, we meet in the postseason, as the loser of our regular season matchup usually wins the next one.

I had my doubts about whether we could win this one.
Seems like my offenses have all closed up shop for covid or something.
Lucky for us the defense showed up today
GL the rest of the season

My group of youngsters couldn't pull it out this week. We had our chances but they were dropping passes left and right, in some key situations, we were kicking field goals to your touchdowns. Just all added up to a 1 point loss.

Good Luck till next time.

GG, BgBob -

A lot of balls dropped on the ground this game. We got an ugly win (and we’lol take it!). Zhang? Benched. 3 fumbles in the game. CJ Russell doesn’t have the quickness he used to have but he’ll be picking up the load going forward.

Good luck!

GG. We couldn't get anything working in the second half. Good luck the rest of the season.
