Ggs Ush... just no discipline today. Wanted to turn off the game after the roughing the kicker blunder but kept watching out of morbid curiosity.

Hosting DET, both teams are still figuring out if they are contenders or WC fodder. Not a lot of weaknesses to exploit against DET but they do send soem serious blitzes so we added a handful more screen passes and are lettign Crabtree play so we will likely need some fireworks from one of our WRs. Their O isn't particularly scary but the Ts are rock solid and they can run the ball, we are hoping to make them go down the field and we can tackle ther dangerous athlete type receivers.

DET tries a reverse on 3rd and 9 and comes up short but tackle well themselves on our short stuff, Disco beats the blitz on 3rd for DET and they get ncie run and TE YAC play to move to our 5 with Burton cashing in. Fence beats a double for a big chunk and I am really curioous how it is even possible to double him with Gibbons and Crabtree on the field but maybe it is just scoutign error. We grind our to &goal but can't punch it in. Our D continues to tackel well and gets a quick stop with Disco at 7/8 but for only 46 yards.

TE Mayes gets a couple nice YAC gains as Mitchem avoids the doubles but once again we can't finsih thedrive iside teh 5. Mor eexcellent play from our fron 7 means another quick stop the groudn game gets us out ot midfield but we can't get a completion and punt it away. A hold sets them back and they get a 46 yard screen to a doubled TE whle we are playing press 2 (FML!) Disco hits 3 conversions in a row but former SodBUSTer Borders has no room to run and they settle for 3. A hold negates a catch and we can't recover inside of 2M. But a roughing the kicker call gives us life. Backup RB Peters who ahs no receiving bars takes a screen 36 yards and Crabtree grabs the next one in the endzone to have us up 2 after a missed XP. ANd DET wastes the hurry up with short stuff.

Tight game, as predicted we have the edge in explosion however are 0/5 on 3rd and those 2 FGs may coem back to haunt us.

A penalty bails us out on a 3rd and long and briefly Sodbuster CB Dole grabs a pick to set DET up in the orange zone. They get us with a 3rd down run (I fucking hate that shit!) but it's quickly 3rd once more and they get the FG for a 1 poitn advantage. A run and scramble get us across mdiifeld and DET gifts us another 3rd down conversion via penalty and tacks on a personal foul later to help Crabtree grab his 2nd TD on teh day and we opt ot go up 6 (doh!). Zilch for the Det runnign game once more but a huge unt and return penalty has us starting at our 6. Anothe rTE YAC play gets us well out and Crabtree bails us out on 3rd and long befor Mitchem finds 3 more intermediate completions to put us up 13 to close out the 3rd.

Disco tries his first pass downfield with no luck adn we snugg out the 3rd down screen pass this time. Another PR penalty negates a nice return and oUr ground game ahs dried up though and we can't do anything. Another failed run on 2nd and 10 for DET and their cute runs on 3rd and long don't work this time but they pin us at our 4.
We have to punt from our 1 and they take over near midfield once more with 9 minutes left. Von Wyss gets his first target of the day but its a failed one on 3rd and they opt to punt facing a 4th and 3. We can't move the sticks in clock kill mode but get it down to near 5minutes regrdless DET still isn't in the hurry up though and punt it with 4:36 left down 13. Nothing doing for our clockkilling efforts so they get it once more and we pick them to essentially end things.

Always niec when things work out liek planned. Our D had a hellluva game as we totally shut down their running and other than that one TE screen chunk held the to 2 YAC7catch. On O we spread it around well and while the final numbers weren't great the run game did its job for the most part.

For all the bliting doen by both sides their were no sacks and we didn't even hit 10% PR. The teams combined for 5//26 on 3rd downs.
