Big game vs MIA in a torrential thunderstorm over 90 degrees to avoid dropping 2.5 games back in the division. Been a frustrating season, we lack oomph on offense and have had many red zone TOs while the defense lacks playmaking as well and can be gashed for chunk plays on the ground and via YAC on shorter stuff. No big changes t our GP, try to avoid 3rd and long and hope to out execute them situationally on O and the D will try to defend the LoS and short areas for the most part.

Neihter team can advance the ball on the first possessions. Then we get some sporadic 10 yard gains to compensate for the other 2 no gains but en dup missing the 47 yard FG. MIA grinds it out some but then we get the strip sack recovery. We reach their 20 and promptly throw what might be our 5th or 6th RZ TO.

MIA grinds out another drive and cashes in for 3 points. And we get our 3rd blocked punt on the season and hold them but are down 6 now. We still can't string it together on O and pin them at the 1. In the hurry up we get a DPI and then hit a Corner route but run out of time so settle for 3 and go into the half down 3.

We push MIA back with a couple sacks but stall out ourselves at midfield. QB Hughesw scrambles again on 3rd and helps MIA get another FG to go up 6 once more. We get to the orange zone and I'm realizing I forgot to put back in oru run blockign RT regardless they return the strip sack recovery once we get there.

MIA hits the obligatory huge run game against our D but we hold up inside the 5 but a 9 point lead is pretty huge in this game. We finally string togehter some completions to get a quick 6 and its a 2 point game with 7 minutes left. OUr D gets a relatively quick stop and we take over at 4 mintues at midfield. A perosnal foul on MIA and deep over to 2nd year man Sasaki has us at their 2 quickly, Kai fumbles another sack but the wily vet G Flad jumps on it and we kick the FG to go up 1 but 3 minutes remain. OUr D promptly shits the bed giving up a 52 yard gain on flat to a RB with 8 men in coverage and K Beardsley drains the 47 yard FG to put MIA back up 2 wiht under a minute left. We hit Sigrest on a Post to get us just across midfield and then Givens on the over to set up a 45 yarder and the holder blows it.

Man ST just keeps killing us. I am going ot have to do something and lok back at Sole about htese blocked kicks and missed FGs. The constant giving up of huge chunks on D also doesnt help but we coudl easily have 5 or 6 wins with better STs.

MIA totally shut donw our running and yet again we maanged just 2 YAC er catch and hovered aroudn 50% completions. We stopped their passing other than that one fluky flat route they were under 2 ypa as we stacked up over 30% rush and beat the hell out of Hughes. They did someohow go 50% on 3rd down by going 6/6 running and scrambling and our D needed a great RZ performance to keep us in it.

Another classic bbriders wasa total snoozer but heated up in the 4th there. Good luck the rest of the way!

GG. As always, a good write up on the game.

We were lucky to come out with the win. Couldn't have done it without Hughes making plays with his legs and then Richardson breaking 2 big plays. This puts us on top of the division as long as we don't screw it up. I have no doubt you'll make some changes and our next game will be different. Good luck the rest of the way! See ya week 17.
