The Baltimore Bombers suffered several bad injuries in today's game vs the Long Beach Calibiri. Most notable is the loss of starting QB Philip Barbieri for the remainder of the regular season. "There's still hope that he'll be able to play in the playoffs. If we can make the playoffs, that is." The responsibility to lead the Bombers to a post-season appearance now rest with rookie passer Brent Kassell, who faces some large odds against making it happen.

An almost as severe blow was dealt when star cornerback Chris Wilber was lost for the season with a ruptured elbow tendon. "I saw the X-ray. It was not just ruptured. It was ruptured from here to here (holding hands far apart) but I have faith in the doctors. They will be able to piece him together again.", general manager 3Ric said. However, Wilber is uncertain to return before October next year, which means he'll miss training camp, pre-season and the first month of regular season.

Sounds like the injury bug is spreading from Gothenburg to Baltimore, no?
