Shreveport, LA (AP) - The Shreveport Pride announced today that RB Dale Farrar and CB Sean Page will be sent to the Denver Dynomite for a package of draft picks including a 3rd and 4th round pick in this years draft and a 4th round pick in next years draft. Last season, Farrar averaged 4.52 yards per carry in his role as a backup, scoring 5 TD's. Page filled in mostly at nickel back and had a strong season as well.
The Pride's GM, Raven Hawk, admitted that they will miss the two players. "Sean and Dale have been an integral part of our team since I took over in 2004. Both have progressed well and we wish them luck on their new team," says Raven Hawk, "This is the CFL and sometimes you have to make hard decisions. We did not want to let them go, but looking to the future, we decided that this was the right move."
The deal takes place only weeks after each player signed renegotiated contracts. Each of their contracts gave them signing bonuses which will be added to the Pride's cap number this year.
