San Antonio DT Marlon Rook was seen in practice today sporting a white towel with a Green Bay Packers logo on it. Upon closer inspection it had a list of numbers among which two of them were #9 & #34. These numbers were crossed off and then numbers 1, 31 & 55 were written in their place.

When asked about this addition to his uniform, he mentioned that he bought it off of Ebay and that it used to belong to one Charles Martin.

When coach Crowley was asked about the new apparel, he replied with a smile "No Comment".

I had a history professor at UTEP whose name was Charles Martin, but I had no idea that he was a Green Bay (or San Antonio) fan...

I still remember watching that game, it still irritates me to this day.

I wish he would have tried something on Payton, he would have been dead at the age of 27. He wouldn't have made it out of Soldier Field alive and that's assuming he would have made it off the field alive.

Any other good Packer, Oiler, or Falcon trinkets still available? Oh wait, nevermind, that towel will always be his legacy.

I'm a Packers fan, and Charles Martin is one of the greatest embarrassments I've ever suffered (in the football domain, at least). May the bastard rot in football hell.

He did play for the Packers, Oilers, and Falcons, shouldn't that count as part of his rotting-in-hell sentence?

Speaking of deep cuts, how's the Packer secondary looking this year?

Forget the secondary, how's the view gonna be from the bottom of the NFC Central this year?

It's all about today. No secondary + No Defense + Declining Brett Favre (Farve) = Last Place in NFC Central

It's a simple equation and it works.

And let us not forget the remainder of the once mighty Black and Blue division, Minnesota and Detroit.

I think there will be four teams fighting their way out of the wet paper bag. Fortunately, one team will make it out to get drubbed in the first round of the playoffs.

I think the teams need to be renamed this year:

GB = Cheeseheads (it is timeless you know)

MIN = Queers (how many other stadiums do you find guys blowing horns? simply gay)

DET = Clavicles (will the Lion's offense ever take off without a certain someone's collarbone?)

CHI = Boy Georges (will Bear's fans ever realize it's no longer the 80's?)

My take?

1. CHI
2. DET
3. GB
4. MIN

Chicago wins by default cuz Grossman plays 14 whole games. Benson's the real deal and Jones is the league leader in carries by a backup.

Detroit comes in second despite Harrington's best efforts to throw it away. Garcia sees as many snaps as Joey this year. The jury is out on exactly which collarbone is broken this year.

Green Bay takes third due to a lousy defense that makes Favre still seem heroic.

Minnesota says farewell to Mike Tice who can't seem to win with all of the talent in the world. The upgraded defense is still third best in the division behind Detroit and Chicago.

A cheesehead invites a bunch of queers to an 80's themed party - of course the cheeseheads jump the queers in true Wisconsin fashion, as it's the only way broken clavicles fit into this horrible analogy of how the NFC North will look this year. How many days until the 2006 draft?!

I love my Lions to death, but damn... if any team is going to be called the "Queers" it has to be the Lions. For Christ's sake, we have Harrington and Garcia at QB alone. I've accepted it and everyone else needs to....

We're here... and we're queer.

The Detroit Lions 2005
