At what stage of the offseason do I need to be under the cap in order to avoid losing a draft pick?

you lose picks at 3 points in the offseason:

-following the end of early FA (stage 20)
-following late FA
-following training camp

I have also discovered that if you don't have any third round picks to forefeit, the game will take away second and first rounders instead.

I don't think that I'll have a problem getting under, I just wanted to make sure of the dates. That information is very good to know, though.
