It's that time of year again, the preseason has just started and the regular season is just around the corner.

To continue with our tradition, this thread will compile our predictions for this upcoming season, and we can look back at it at the end of the season and laugh at ourselves. 2007 Predictions, 2006 Predictions, 2005 Predictions, 2004 Predictions

Here are the usual categories:
1. Predict your team's record
2. Predict the winner of your division
3. Predict the CFL bowl winner
4,5,6+ Add any other predictions that you have

1. 8-8 - my team is still old (15 players with 10+ years of experience) and not getting any better
2. Charleston should repeat as division champs
3. Hartford - went 15-1 last year, and now they've added NT Albert Poole
4. Honolulu WR Jody Beech's ratings take a huge hit once he returns from his injury
5. FFF resists the temptation to play Titone during the regular season
6. The Seattle Thunderbirds finally make the playoffs
7. Michael Browning has over 1,000 yards receiving for the first time in his career

1. 9-7 - cap problems have limited our ability to infuse new talent
2. Honolulu will win the division again.
3. Hartford will win it all.
4. Yet another of our offensive linemen will suffer a season- or career-ending injury, making this the third season in a row for such an event.
5. Two key injuries are all it will take to convert my borderline-playoff team into a top-5 draft choice position.
6. Meatholes will be very happy to inherit such a good team and will make the playoffs as a rookie owner.
7. TurfToe's bowel problems will continue to plague the league, resulting in league-wide insistence that he eat at least two salads per day and be responsible for stocking the league restroom with a steady supply of Glade[size=7a92df02](TM)[/sizea92df02] air freshener.

[bc75c392]1. Predict your team's record[/bc75c392]
10-6. I feel the team has the talent to get 10 wins

[bc75c392]2. Predict the winner of your division[/bc75c392]
Durham/Charleston. Its going to be a killer battle in our division this year.

[bc75c392]3. Predict the CFL bowl winner[/bc75c392]
I think Hartford gets off the schnide and wins it this year. It took a Record breaking performance from Landon Hurst to stop them last season.

[bc75c392]Other predictions:[/bc75c392]
We will have our first 1,000 yd rusher & reciever, plus a 3,000 yd passer this season.

[bc75c392]Jonnie Titone[/bc75c392] will see playing time this year because of a injury to Mathias and will perform like the 1st pick overall.

1. 9-7. We have the talent to make the playoffs, but the cohesion is absurdly bad, so it's hard to know what to predict.

2. Seattle. Any of the 4 teams could win it, but Seattle may have improved their secondary enough to take the division.

3. Hartford.

4. Seattle really makes the playoffs this year.

5. Toothpick Lang has his first 1000 yard season going for over 1500 and with a little luck coming close to Alexis Rounds' rushing records.

6. Oregon finally has a losing season. I don't know how GI has had so much success with no talent at QB or RB, but eventually Kuhn's interceptions have to catch up. (Please?)

1. 8-8 I was going to predict something else, but why buck tradition?

2. Hartford.

3. Hartford. They looked scary last year and I was surprised they didn't go all the way. They look even scarier this year.

4. QB Mathias misses 2 games to injury, allowing Titone to come in and take the job away. Then Titone loses 2 games to injury, and Mathias comes back and plays awesome. Soon after, FFF breaks down from all the stress of the decision-making between the two and trades Mathias to Boston for a 6th round pick in 2031. :D

5. Motormouth Vasquez suffers a career ending injury... to his jaw.

6. Jody Beech returns from injury with his ratings intact, and Honolulu storms into the playoffs on a run. Then Beech gets injured in the first drive of the playoffs and retires in the offseason, handing Bug a massive cap hit.

7. Next year's draft is absolutely chock full of legitimate WR studs.

Post subject:

1. 9-7 - The inability to sign free agents will limit our ability to improve on last year's record.
2. Honolulu
3. Denver may just repeat.
4. Las Vegas plays a significant part in Tuscon's offensive linemen issues and may even break in their punter for them.
5. 'Meatholed' will be the new buzz word that takes the place of Shreveported in most game analysis. Only time will tell exactly what being meatholed means...
7. TurfToe's bowel problems will be found innocent. Expert witness testimony will prove that Fonzie's ranting and raving about his Toros and Packers in the johnnie were the cause of the putrid smelling hot air previously associated to TurfToe, resulting in league-wide insistence that he be provided a lifetime supply of Tic-Tacs by the league.

1. 7-9
2. Hartford

5. Willie Golalic ties the single season record for interceptions.

1. 10-6, we will not collapse again this year
2. Toss up between Sacramento and Huntington Beach.. and Santa Cruz and Long Beach. I have no idea.
3. Honolulu
4. Everyone will be shocked at how little I run with Alexis Rounds, now that my passing game has legitimate targets.
5. HB's 7th round rookie RB wins Rookie of the Year.
6. The entire CFL gets meatholed.

5. El Paso won't be bottom of the Cavalry division
6. Tulsa will come close to a wildcard spot

1. 4-12
2. Denver
3. Hartford. They look quite formidable.
4. Dustin Hayes will throw more TDs than INTs.
5. Tulsa will set a team record with seven wins.
6. Ernest Lorenzo, reunited with his favorite receiver (Chris Chavez), will have another great year in Cleveland.

1. 10-6
2. Us or Charleston
3. Detroit
4. As usual, the Atlantic division will be a slugfest.
5. Toothpick Lang wins the Comeback Player of the Year award.
6. Safety Robbie Umphenour makes the All-Pro team.

Post subject:

1. 9-7
2. Denver
3. Honolulu
4. Titone will suffer a career ending injury.
5. Ricky Griffith doesn't miss a kick all year.
6. The Boxcars raise a few eyebrows!

Post subject:

1. 9-7
2. Detroit or Us
3. Hartford
4. The Cleveland Running Back by committee will be more effective than Toothpick Lang ever was for our offense.
5. Kris Ober will be a force for our defense. The boy likes to tackle whoever has the ball. I see all-league in his future.
6. Bosie will be the most improved team in the league. The have the talent to be playing Hartford in the championship game.
7. On the flip side, El Paso has the potential to be one of the worst CFL teams in recent memory. Jeeber need not worry though with 8 picks in the first two rounds next year. Plus, he can always root for the "El Paso Alumni Offense" in Cleveland :)

1. 6-10 We have no clue what we're doing in Shreveport
2. New Orleans
3. Cleveland - Since Shreveport owns Cleveland's 1st rounder next season, it ensures that they will win the championship.
4. Shreveport pulls the unthinkable and gets Shreveported and Meatholed all in the same week.
5. At the end of the season fully 1 person from our 2008 draft class will be left on our team.
6. Brady Ma-Scott is cut from the Pride and begins his career in the booth where he immediately is praised as the worst thing to ever happen to football.

1. Predict your team's record

11-5. I feel better about the team this year and Chicago will not be 2-0 against us again. Would be a better record, but we have a tough schedule.

2. Predict the winner of your division

Albany, Detroit and Cleveland battle it out for a Wild Card spot but only one of them will join the Crows in the playoffs.

3. Predict the CFL bowl winner

Upset Special: It will be the Fargo Boxcars over the Albany Crows in a tight game, 24 - 21. Fargo's SS Campo, the 4th overall pick, will be the MVP for returning McFarland's only interception of the playoffs for the go ahead touchdown. :smt030

Other Predictions:

Arizona will go 10 - 6 and make the playoffs.
El Paso will struggle but manage to go a respectable 7 - 9.
The Chicago Hitmen and Oregon Ice will be battling for the #1 pick overall next year, I will be rooting for the Hitmen

1. 8-8 if healthy 2-14 if not.
2. Sacremento
3. Hartford
4. I will be forced to release players I do not want to because of injuries, and having to replace them.
5. Santa Cruz will have a better record in 2008 than 2009.

7-9 actually would be respectable for the amount of talent I've had to give up the past two off-seasons...

1. 11-5, I honestly think my team is ready this year.
2. Tulsa, if not us then Denver
3. I think a team like Baltimore can sneak in and take it.
4. Charles Lindberg catches his first TD in over 2 seasons in week 1.
5. My rookies will play like rookies.
6. Butch Fulton once again carries the team and gets little recognition.
7. Donnie Lowe has more TDs than INTs, but is still under the 20 TD mark.
8. I will completely miss all of my predictions, and be picking in the top 10 again next year. And once again I will pick a WR and/or DT in the first round

1) Record of 9-6 sounds about right.
2) Dare I jix myself?
3) Denver
4) We will not be the worst pass defense in the league!

Which game will you be opting not to play? 9-6 infers that you will only be playing 15 games. I tell ya, those San Antonio schools might need to revisit their math programs. :smt064

I think it was a typo...it should read 1-9-6.

There's no way Shooter meant 9-6 as that's EXTREMELY optimistic on the win side of that equation. That's about as absurd as San Antonio winning the division, er, wait, uh, ok...maybe he meant 9-7

He knows he will get blown out by Memphis so he decided not to count it.

Hoffman for MVP!
