Another shutout win for Boise to move us to 6-1, but the truth is that we're just lucky Barre isn't healthy yet. They missed 3 field goals or else it wouldn't have been a shutout. We did manage to keep them out of the red zone, though. A win is a win, in any case, and we didn't suffer any injuries so it was even better.

Well, with Charleston (Week 6) and Hartford (Week 7) done, I can now lose to Durham (Week 8) and maybe get back to a reasonable schedule....

Ow....

:(

Bah, Tuscon still owns us...

More bad news, one of the few studly defensive players we have left, DE William Gaines, ruptured his achilles tendon and is out for 27 weeks and most likely will never be the same player again. He had a slight injury going into the game and wasn't supposed to play, but because of another player being out and my cap situation being what it is the AI decided to play him anyways. Sigh...

One bright spot in the game was Tom Sonkin. Tom is finally starting to look like the third overall pick that he was four years ago. Against Tuscon he caught 8 balls for 214 yards (the yardage being a Rockets record by a 81 yards!) and is second overall in the league in receptions and first in yardage.

That game sucked. Everett Dole sucks. Alexis Rounds sucks. Barre's return is much needed.

The Rounders' season is over. Jackpot suffered a broken fibula against Arizona and will be on the shelf for quite some time. With Tucson up next, a keystone game for both teams' divisional championship aspirations, it appears as though Tucson will take the division without much resistance form here on out. This really bites.

On the bright side, backup QB Alston was able to throw and run for a score in the second half, leading the Rounders to a narrow victory over the Outlaws.

The win over El Paso was a nice one indeed - but the Hayes-Sonkin connection was troublesome. Still, our red-zone defense held El Paso to just 1 TD in 3 trips (those two stops included both of Hayes' interceptions), while our red-zone offense was 2 for 2. An efficient game, even though we gave up more passing yards than we'd like.

Our secondary is in tatters right now, with a third of our DBs Out or Doubtful. Fortunately, as TurfToe pointed out, their jobs will be made slightly easier next week by the absence of Lenny "Jackpot" Olson (tough break TurfToe - no pun in tended :().

It was nice to see Holliday finally get the number of touches I've wanted him to get (27-119-1TD; thanks for the tip Joe!), and Milan "Colonel" Hogan is off to his best-ever start (97.3 QB Rating, 12 TDs vs 3 INTS). If we can just get past the injuries to the secondary we should be in decent shape to make a run at our first-ever divisional crown.

Damn, did I say that out loud? I just totally jinxed myself. Oh, well, maybe we'll win it all next year.

Defeated Boston, but suffered two key injuries. SLB Robinson in done for the year with an ACL injury and QB Oberg will miss a few weeks with his annual injury.

Hey! We got our second win! I wish we could play 0-6 teams every week!

Great game against Huntington Beach.

At the end of the first half..

1-10-SEA20 (00:03) SEA 28 Liszkiewicz ran inside the left guard for 79 yards.
Tackled by HBE 31 Unknow, assisted by HBE 34 Sinclair.
Key block delivered by SEA 88 Downing.

Tackled at the 1... :(

Got some stuff to fix during the bye week. Liszkiewicz will be made to carry a football everywhere he goes for the entire two week span. Drop it, and that's 40 pushups.

Always nice to come out with a win against a division rival, but this win wasn't a very reassuring one.
My running game sucks and needs Loudermilk to come back from injury quick, Mathias is not in his best form.

Fortunately, my defense had another great game, as usual I could add. 12 QB hurries, 12 passes defended, not a bad line...

I went through a lot of beer watching that game this morning. That was just horrible.

Karma always catches up with you. After the win at Sac-to earlier, a loss like this was due.

Frederic Swallow's (teehee!) first miss of the season comes back to bite us in the arse. It definitely was not a difficult kick, either, a 34 yarder.

Special credit, of course, goes to our defense for bending over for Oregon and asked for no lube.[quotef49d415] 1-10-ORE16 (00:50) ORE 17 McIver pass completed to 86 Roy for 16 yards.
Tackled by LBE 42 Miller.

Tackled by LBE 41 Hill.

Tackled by LBE 26 Schrock.
ORE called time out.
