Wow, turnovers once again the difference in the game. I somehow beat New Orleans with my backup QB last week, get McFarland healthy and take my fullback out of the halfback spot and squeak out a win against Cleveland. Not a bad two weeks going into the bye this week. But, star CB Devin Hopper is now out 15 weeks with a torn knee ligament.

PING: WALT RICHARD

What was the reasoning behind substituting Francis Burch for Lorenzo on our final drive?.....

Burch fumbled, on what looked like a game winning drive.

What a strange game... we outgained New York, but just couldn't score on them. *sigh*

Not a great performance, but Boise is 8-1 now, so I can't complain. Santa Cruz is so beat up, they really didn't even try to pass until the last 2 minutes. We should've been able to put it away sooner, but we made some mistakes.

In bigger news, Hartford goes down. Congrats to General Mike and Atlantic City on the huge win.

Nolan Shannon puts up what hopefully will be the norm for him... His first really good game and a win for the Torpedoes.

Another loss, and I lose 2 of my 3 NTs (including the starter) to injury. This season is history. Unbelievable.

Hella Game.. 20-17 The Bulldogs miss a long FG to put the game into overtime and the Monitors escape luckly with a win.. Great Game Taco..

Next up 7-1 HARTFORD.. I hope Hurst can have a big game, like he did against them in the playoff because that's the only way we can beat them..

8-0 WOW I didn't think we would have a chance to do that with this year's games...

That sucked. Vegas wins games they shouldn't and can't win games they should. I guess fumbling on your own 12 and allowing it to be converted for a TD early in the first quarter is about as bad as having a penalty every other play.

After Tulsa, I have Honolulu, Charleston, and Oregon at home. It was mentioned that the ROF is going to be agreat race but I would say this is the end of my cameo appearance in that race. Even with Jackpot in the lineup, I might go 2-2 over that span...without Jackpot it's simply going to be very ugly.

The bye week couldn't have come at a better time.

Congrats Huntington Beach!

Now I can start my draft strategy. . .

I'm not quite sure how we won that game against Vegas, but I'll take it. Next weeks game against Denver is going to be HUGE for us. If we win it we're right back in the division race. If we lose it, the playoffs are gonna be a longshot...

Wow, what a gritty win. I thought we were headed for blow-out city when we got down 10-0 early (and the touchdown was off of a blocked punt at our 13). But "Colonel" Hogan was not as skeptical as I, and rallied the team to a much-needed and very surprising 24-17 win. Tulsa is a damn fine team - I'm amazed we pulled this one out.

Two bummers: 1) I have yet another OL injury, this time losing C David Pless for 6 weeks. I don't know what it is about the OL on this team - they seem absolutely cursed. 2) Despite cranking his PT up to 9, the coach seems adamant that Holliday not get more than 2/3 of the carries. This game, Holliday got 17 carries (for 74 yards), while his backup got 8 carries (for 39 yardsa and 1 TD). I'm dumbfounded - I am absolutely stumped as to how to get Holliday more touches. :smt013

Easy:

1. How many unnecessary roughness calls can a team get in the first few minutes of a game? Really?

2. Capitalizing on turnovers is the mark of a winning team. Getting the fumble in the first quarter and punching it in for a TD was huge for you guys.

3. Marching the ball down the field in the fourth quarter and scoring was the game. It was also something Tucson was unable to do on us. Those who can finish games, win. Those who can't finish usually lose.

It was actually along the lines of what I expected to see without my starting QB. I was happy to see Alston put up the yardage he did and having Feeney on the sideline may have cost us the game. Anytime we're in the game late in the 4th quarter I'm excited about our performance. Our defense couldn't pull this one out. Great game Jeebs...

Good game, JJ! I was happy with our secondary who picked off Hurst 3 times, but we just couldn't get enough going on offense. We had a 42 yard TD pass called back due to a holding penalty, and then had to settle for a 53 yard FG attempt at the end to try to tie it.

Overall, I'm pleased to be 5-3 with the three losses all on the road against Charleston (8-0), Hartford (7-1), and New York (6-2). We have 6 home games left, so hopefully we can pull out 5 wins and get into the playoffs.

Hmmmm, any chance you have some of your formations set to use RB 2 instead of RB 1?

No, they're all set for RB1. But I do have my backup set to be used in passing situations (he's a better receiver than Holliday), so my best guess is that the dumbass coach is calling a fair number of running plays in passing situations.

I hate my coach. So much.

Damn, a close game that could have gone either way...
New Orleans won the turnover battle (Mathias threw another 2 interceptions!) and their kicker made a 52 yarder while mine missed a 44 yarder...

I really don't like the way this season is going...

We improve to 6-3. The next game is critical as we will host a very talented New Orleans team. If we can pull that one out, we are in the driver's seat to win the division.
