In a shocking move, Charleston head coach Rod Caputo is fired just 3 days after winning CFL Bowl VI! His replacement is Johnnie Shields, who has never coached in the CFL before.

In the wake of the madness, Charleston's former defensive coordinator, Leslie Spicer, signs with Shreveport for peanuts. :D

Hey man i have a problem.... They hired my D. cordinator as my Head Coach, is there any way we can rerun the last stage and fix the problem... Because I would never fired a coach that won the bowl that's just stupid..

Smitty, download this league file:
http://www.thecfl.net/cfl12-2.zip

Then email me (chris.seifert AT gmail.com) your revised export with the correct coaching offer.

I'll try to rerun the stage, and will do so if everything else works out the same.

Everyone else can proceed as usual, but just don't make an offer to Rod Caputo.

If anyone has any objections to me doing this, please speak up.

So far no luck...I've been resimming the stage for the past 20 minutes and I can't reproduce the results. I'll try again later tonight, but it might not be possible to do this.

I apologize, Smitty, but I can't resim the stage without causing the results for the other teams to change. I tried everything I can think of, but it's just not happening.

Our two choices are:
1. Keep going with the original sim and you now have a new head coach (you can make up some story about a better career that your coach left for)

2. Completely resim stage-2 and accept that the results will be different this time around. I will only do this if all owners who are affected agree to this.

Smitty, please let me know ASAP if you would like to consider option #2, or if you will accept option #1.

Thanks.

I can't agree to re-sim stage 2 if I don't get the D.Coordinator that I went after. It would put me in the crappy situation of having a hanging bid in Week 3 that somebody else could snipe and I'd end up getting the FOFC assigned crap coach.

I would agree to it, however, if nobody else was allowed to bid on Spicer in Round 3 if I don't get him in round 2 on the re-sim.

Coach/staff hiring is, by far, my least favorite part of the game.

I would like to resim the week because this would be a game killer for me...

I'm guessing Smitty just didn't move the Role drop-down menu from Head Coach to Defensive Coordinator. If it is anything else besides this, I'd say resim. However, if it's a case of operator error, I say keep it as is. Shields doesn't look like he'll be a bad Head Coach anyways.

TLK is right. The problem was caused by operator error.

I have decided to delay stage-3 staff hiring until tomorrow. This has the added benefit of moving the franchise tag export to Tuesday morning instead of Monday morning. I think this will reduce the chance that someone will miss that critical export.

Upcoming schedule (all sims occur at 6am EST)
Mon, 12/5 - Staff hiring 3
Tue, 12/6 - Ticket prices / Franchise tag
Wed, 12/7 - Optional Pre-FA Export
Thu, 12/8 - Free agency 1
Fri, 12/9 - Free agency 2
Sat, 12/10 - Free agency 3
Sun, 12/11 - Free agency 4

Based on the feedback I have received, I have decided that we will not resim stage-2. I am giving an extra day for stage-3 just to make sure everyone can get the bids they want in stage-3, to reduce the possibility of the game hiring an unwanted coach for a team.

Smitty, I understand that this is a disappointment because you accidentally made a move that you didn't want. All of us have had unintended things happen to us in the game (auto depth chart reshuffling, even releasing of players that we didn't want - Jeeber's 1st round pick last year!). It happens to all of us and I think it balances out in the end.

So, no resim. Stage-3 staff hiring will be tomorrow morning.

No worries Smitty, it will take more than a new coach to ruin a championship team. Now maybe if you had Tucson's coach, you might have need for concern.
