Post subject:  Offseason schedule,

Looking ahead at the offseason schedule...we will start the 2014 draft at the beginning of July. Unfortunately this is the same time as my vacation - I'll be gone from Sat 6/30 thru Fri 7/6 - and I won't have internet access.

So, we have two options:
1. The offseason can continue as usual and someone else can monitor the draft and keep things moving
-OR-
2. We can all take a week off and continue the offseason when I get back

Since it is the week of July 4th I'm wondering if several other owners have vacation plans that same week. If so, it may make sense to go with option #2. If I'm the only one then I don't want to hold up the league just for my convenience.

Please post your thoughts about this. I may open this up for an official vote if there isn't a clear consensus.

If it means anything, I'm out July 8th through the 15th. So I would like to have the draft at it's normal time, but then it's hard to have the draft if the commish is gone. If I miss it, that's fine, I'll deal with it.

I'd prefer to keep us on schedule. I should be around and pretty available in early July, so I'd be happy to fill in if needed.

Same. I'm happy to fill in and assist when needed.

I'm on vacation early in July, so I'd just as soon see us take the week off.

Well, I start training for my new job next week for about 4 weeks in Memphis before moving to Denver. That move should be somewhere around the start of July. As owner of approximately 40% of the draft, I say we wait on me to get ready or have my mortal enemy, TurfToe, draft for me. He will not sabotage the team because he is too prideful. He will want to either see me do well in the draft and still lose to Detroit or if we end up beating Detroit and maybe winning it all, he would want to take credit for it. It is a win-win for him.

I will also more than likely be on vacation around the 4th of July, but will have computer access. I think a break would be good if enough people won't be around, but if the majority will be here then staying on track would be ok as well.

Get a Volvo Turbo Diesel Wagon and fill it with kerosene. You will get much more horsepower and a better MPG. [size=860fbcac]*Not responsible for launching of said Volvo into orbit.[/size60fbcac]

I drive a supercharged V8, does it sound like I care about gas prices?

When did we turn into a bunch of commie bastards? This is America, we don't do shit on the Fourth of July. I vote for the week off and all I'm doing is drinking margaritas at Meatholes' neighbor's house, lighting off a few illegal fireworks, burning last year's Christmas tree, pissing in Meatholes' backyard, lighting off some illegal fireworks, possibly assuming the distraction formation (two roman candles lit off at the end of our street) with Meatholes to distract the 5-0 when they roll up, drink some more margaritas, and piss in Meatholes' backyard some more.

Come to think of it, I WILL be busy that weekend so I'll still have to vote for the week off. Then, since it's America, I can bitch about not being on schedule and wanting to get the draft started early. It's my right to be an ass and I will not have that right bantered about carelessly nor infringed upon.

Or we can stay on schedule, I'm flexible. [imgc1d5620]http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h145/ ... /flash.gif[/imgc1d5620]

Dola

It could be my turf toe acting up again but isn't it kind of silly for the Burger King to be doing a drive by in a car with his logo on the side? Hello, it's your logo, like even an illiterate, illegitimate child playing on the street couldn't pick you out of a lineup.

What a dumbass and his fries suck too.

Wonder how Dave Thomas died? Best fries award goes to Captain D's.

I'll be around that week, but wouldn't mind a week off. If at all possible, it would be cool if we could at least make it to FA1 before we take the week off. That way if we're not feeling lazy, we can peruse the draft class and do our n-degree analyses on who are booms and who are busts before passing out our interview tix.

That's the brilliance of the plan - who does a drive-by in a car that says "Here's the name of the guy doing a drive-by"? Nobody is stupid enough to do that. So the cops will assume that somebody stole the BK mobile to do a drive by, and the King gets away with the whole thing.

Beautiful.

It sounds like we're split pretty evenly on this...about 50/50. Any other thoughts before I make a decision?

I'll be fine with whatever decision you make Taco. I'd really like to see the league maintain its current momentum, but if we need to take a break that's cool.
