Please take a moment to vote on the following players as it pertains to their nominations for the Hall of Legends. 20 votes are needed to make the vote a valid vote. I would encourage new owners to participate in the voting as well as it is a fresh perspective on whether the player is worthy.

FAQ:
[b2c4bb32]
1. How many votes does it take for a player to be enshrined? [/b2c4bb32][color=blue2c4bb32]20 votes of "Yes" will enshrine the player into the Hall of Legends - OR - 75% of the votes are "yes" votes and we have received at least 20 votes for a player.[/color2c4bb32]

[b2c4bb32]2. Can I abstain from voting for certain players? [/b2c4bb32] [color=blue2c4bb32]Yes, you can cast three types of votes: "Yes" meaning you want the player enshrined, "No" meaning you don't think the player has what it takes to be enshrined, or "Abstain" meaning you don't know. An abstain vote does not at to the total of requisite votes for enshrinement.[/color2c4bb32]

[b2c4bb32]3. What happens if a player doesn't get enough votes to make a "Yes" or "No" decision? [/b2c4bb32][color=blue2c4bb32]That player will roll over and automatically nominated in next seasons' voting. This will occur until we can get a "Yes" or "No" vote on the player.[/color2c4bb32]

[b2c4bb32]4. Can a player be nominated more than once?[/b2c4bb32][color=blue2c4bb32] If a player received a "No" vote in a previous year, they can be re-nominated in future years.[/color2c4bb32]

Here is the Ballot for 2014:

[player]Genaro Burke[/player]
[player]Judson Broadnax[/player]
[player]Jonathan Sill[/player]
[player]Philip Barbieri[/player]
[player]Rueben Albertson[/player]
[player]Hunter Jaimes[/player]
[player]Johnie Nobles[/player]
[player]Earnest Fant[/player]
[player]Lanny Hower[/player]
[player]Desmond Ward[/player]
[player]David Crew[/player]
[player]Jaime Barnard[/player]
[player]Isaiah Melo[/player]
[player]Albert Poole[/player]
[player]Andrew Russel[/player]
[player]Ronald Sawyer[/player]

[b2c4bb32]To Vote, please PM me with your votes, so I can validate that only qualified voters (owners) are voting.[/b2c4bb32]

Please use this thread to discuss the merits of each of these players if you so choose.

Stretch - When you moved Johnie Nobles to OLB in 2012, did he come from an ILB position or from the other OLB position?

I believe from an ILB position.

While everybody is out here arguing the 1-year contract issue. Take a moment to vote on the Hall of Legends.

A little bit of discussion from my research:

Look at [player]Albert Poole[/player] carefully. When you see his numbers, remember that he is a NT, not a RDT or LDT. Compare his numbers against other NT's and see where he rates. I think that you may be surprised.

You took the time to look him up but didn't share your findings?!

Who's lazier? The dude who did the research and did not share or the one who's too lazy to do the research?

Not up to [player]Dominic Shumpert[/player] standards. :D

I was going to point that out, but Shumpert did play in like 45 more games so naturally he put up better numbers. Not taking anything away from him, though, he's the best DT in league history by a good bit.

You are correct. Not up to Dominic Shumpert standards, but fairly impressive nonetheless.

Ballots are due before Training Camp sim is run, but I figured I'd get started early this year.

Did I miss the requirement that owners have to be able to read Latin?

I was just trying to read some of the bios in the Hall of Legends to get a sense of what is considered "Legend"ary in the CFL, and the bio portions seem to be in Latin. Is there a cool decoder ring that comes in the mail 4 to 6 weeks after acquiring a CFL team and sending in your cereal boxtops? :?

What? You mean, nobody told you before you joined???

j/k, the latin is just a spaceholder while we're waiting for the *[i754dabc]cough[/i754dabc]*lazy*[i754dabc]cough[/i754dabc]* owners to write the player bios.

Can you believe Taco never mentioned a foreign language requirement once? :D But thank God, it's just a spaceholder...Spanish or French I could probably figure out enough to get by, but I have no hope with Latin.

In case anyone is curious, the Latin comes from this website: http://www.lipsum.com/

[quote6db7739]Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Why do we use it?

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).

Where does it come from?

Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

The standard chunk of Lorem Ipsum used since the 1500s is reproduced below for those interested. Sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 from "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" by Cicero are also reproduced in their exact original form, accompanied by English versions from the 1914 translation by H. Rackham.[/quote6db7739]

Status check - 17 teams have submitted ballots. That means that 15 of you still need to take some time to look over these guys and submit a ballot. Please take some time to do so.

If you are one of the 14 slackers that still hasn't submitted a ballot, this is fair warning that with the draft winding down you're running out of time. All ballots are due before the Training Camp sim is run. Please make sure you get it to me.

Thanks!

I respectfully and humbly request an extension. I have gotten a decision on almost all of them but would like to finih. Shit has officially hit the fan at work and my other real life prioritites have left me little time to work on it. I will submit them ASAP but would hate to be the vote to keep anything from going official.

If leniancy is not allowed, I'll slip you a $5 bribe so your over-remindful ass can buy a Big Mac while you're looking the other way on the deadline.

That's one extension granted. I would still love to see the 13 other voters participate in the process.
