Question to all... is it smart to have a second center with good long snapping capabilities and just have him in for those situations? I have a real good but his long snapping is 56. I see a few on the market that are 80+ |

Centers and TE's are the positions that can long snap. It is wise to have a good long snapper or two on your roster in any of the starting or backup C & TE positions. |

dola I was thinking it was going to be a lot worse than it was. Ackerman's offer is in the ludicrous range and I thought that RB's offers were going to be just as insane but they were reasonable for the most part. The one thing I liked was that people were still making reasonable offers even though they knew a couple of crazy offers would be submitted. |

Brooklyn has 4 TE on the roster and has offers in and leading on 4 others!! |

I don't remember what player it was, but I was looking at the free agents after the draft- and there was a 2nd year player who was not very good... In the history section it had showed he was one of the ones to get an crazy offer last year. So it might be crazy money, but more often than not they pan out to be nothing at all. I have 20+ million in unused cap space, I might as well spend it to get some guys that may turn into something. I have had some limited success with these guys in other leagues, but don't think I've hit on any in this league yet. |

But with any FA, if there is nothing available in FA or found in the draft, the one year lump sum offers are strictly the entry fee for the desperate rosters and it is what it is. Considering how thin FA seemed to be this year, I thought there would be many holes to fill but it seems mild-to-moderate so far. I also drafted a guy, LB Hudson I believe, who I did not sign after drafting him who went on to get drafted last year and was draft eligible this year. Drafted or undrafted, you never know what you'll get until you get them on your roster and through a camp. I believe in helping the entire league by taking as many players through camp as possible. If you have the cap space you might as well use it. |
