There was a lot of movement leading up to the 2016 draft for the Rounders. GM TurfToe was working the phones non-stop in an effort to keep the ship on course heading into 2016.

[u5c08d95][b5c08d95]Pick 1.02[/b5c08d95][/u5c08d95]

QB - Morris Moore, Stanford
6'0" 210 lbs.

[img5c08d95]http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h145/ ... ordQB1.jpg[/img5c08d95]

Moore was the unanimous #1 quarterback in the draft. While lacking prototypical CFL size, Moore has a mind for the game and the legs to save him when all else fails. His pocket presence, the ability to read a defense, and winning attitude are exactly what the doctor ordered for the Rounders. Many believe the new QB Coach, former Rounder and current legend Lenny "Jackpot" Olsen, is rumored to have been in the war room with TurfToe and the scouting staff during the draft. While not shocking news by itself, one source claims Jackpot had considerable influence over the direction the Rounders went this year. Jackpot is known to be close with Roderick Palmer, the incumbent starter for Vegas, who suffered a devastating elbow injury near the end of 2015. Whether this lends credence to the rumors that Palmer is not, and never will be, 100% is not known. Stay tuned...

[u5c08d95][b5c08d95]Pick 2.04[/b5c08d95][/u5c08d95]

LDT - Mario Conley, Notre Dame
6'4" 320 lbs.

[img5c08d95]http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h145/ ... Conley.jpg[/img5c08d95]

Mario Conley was a pleasant surprise for the Rounders when he was still available at the newly acquired 4th selection in the 2nd round. Conley's playmaking ability will add another dimension to an already dynamic line that features the Samoan Tsunami (Mario Ah Yat), Shannon Hutchinson, and up-and-comer Justin Hatcher, who is fresh off his summer league stint. The Mario Bros. will hope to make a statement in the Rounders' middle while Ah Yat still has gas left in the tank. Conley's pass rushing ability will complement Ah Yat's omnipresence while his ability to punish ball carriers will make him feel at home in this front four.

[u5c08d95][b5c08d95]Pick 2.19[/b5c08d95][/u5c08d95]

FB - Clay Small, University of Florida
5'9" 236 lbs.

[img5c08d95]http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h145/ ... mall-1.jpg[/img5c08d95]

Clay Small was an intriguing selection for the Rounders in the 2nd round. Many thought that TurfToe would go RB, WR, CB, or RG before considering a FB. However, Small's ability to block and occassionally make plays carrying the ball suggests TurfToe picked up on Small's athletic ability and knowledge of how to play the FB position. This may seem like a longshot this early in the draft but it's almost certain to say that it's an immediate upgrade for the Rounders at the FB position, a position the Rounders have struck out on during free agency over the last 2 years.

[u5c08d95][b5c08d95]Pick 4.19[/b5c08d95][/u5c08d95]

FL - Chris Popson, Western Carolina
6'1" 198 lbs.

[img5c08d95]http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h145/ ... Popson.jpg[/img5c08d95]

While not a smallish receiver, Popson has the speed found most often in the 5'9" 180 jets you see flying around. While not his best performance at the combine (4.44), Popson posted some 4.40's in private workouts following the combine. His size and speed can be a deadly combination on special teams as both a gunner and occasional return man. Vegas will likely use Popson to chase down opposing kick returners as he seemed ot have issues fielding kicks in his senior year. While Popson looked good in shorts at the combine, some have raised questions about his skills. TurfToe seems to be sold on his route running ability which may be crucial for a developing QB. His big lpay receiving ability is the other asset that keeps appearing on tape and could be signs of a better, though undeveloped, CFL star.

[u5c08d95][b5c08d95]Pick 5.19[/b5c08d95][/u5c08d95]

RB - Robbie Hampton, Duke
5'10" 205 lbs.

[img5c08d95]http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h145/ ... ampton.jpg[/img5c08d95]

Robbie Hampton set several Duke rushing records. The operative word there was Duke. Other than some good hands and the ability to find the hole, Robbie is an uninspiring draft pick by the Rounders and we'll keep an eye on him in camp. He probably won't be able to crack the 53-man roster in 2016.

[u5c08d95][b5c08d95]Pick 6.17[/b5c08d95][/u5c08d95]

SS - Jeremy Davies, Washington
6'0" 209 lbs.

[img5c08d95]http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h145/ ... ies-SS.jpg[/img5c08d95]

Davies represents Vegas' decision to snag a defensive backfield filler before it got too late in the draft. Remove before and just say 'too late'.

[u5c08d95][b5c08d95]Pick 7.16[/b5c08d95][/u5c08d95]

RG - Ron Magazine, Florida A&M
6'1" 286 lbs.

[img5c08d95]http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h145/ ... gazine.jpg[/img5c08d95]

Magazine is an athletic guard coming out of Florida A&M. Not the highest touted offensive lineman by a long shot, but he has the skills to play in the CFL. He will be a guy to watch, especially when the trap plays start showing up on tape. If he can put on 15 pounds of muscle, he could make some noise in short order.

[u5c08d95][b5c08d95]Pick 7.17[/b5c08d95][/u5c08d95]

QB - Craig Chaffin, Michigan State
6'2" 221 lbs.

[img5c08d95]http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h145/ ... haffin.jpg[/img5c08d95]

Chaffin was at the end of the 'QB's expected to be nabbed by the Rounders late' list. Inrterestingly, Chaffin is another mobile passer that can use his legs to escape trouble. If Chaffin makes this squad or heaven forbid, the field, the Rounders will already be in a heap of trouble.
