This conference's runner up

[b7e041e8]New Orleans Raging Horde 2016 (12-4):[/b7e041e8]

They came close to pulling off the three-peat, but got just short of making it to the CFL Bowl. [player]Robert Moore[/player] was certainly a pleasant surprise in the fourth round. Their first pick [player]Herb Rauch[/player] is very strong at the guard spot and should learn to play the spot over time, but will have to rely on his strength alone for the early part of his career. If 3rd rounder [player]Jared Petitgout[/player] can hang on to the ball, he will be a good find. But, 2nd rounder [player]Winfred Mahoney[/player] will never be a quality player in this league.

[u7e041e8]Grade: B- ~ I really do not like their 2nd round pick, but they did well with the picks after that.[/u7e041e8]

[b7e041e8]San Antonio Stingers 2016 (10-6):[/b7e041e8]

The Stingers had 11 picks in this draft. [player]Pete Stevens[/player] a star in a Fun-N-Gun offense in college, did not go to the combine and scouts say that during camp he looked more like a fan then a first round pick. [player]Levon Thames[/player] should be a good blocker. I think he has more upside then what most scouts have been telling me. They then spent an early 3rd rounder on a decent kicker and a 5th on a decent punter. You would think you could have gotten similar ones later in the draft or in free agency. But, they did do well with their other two 3rd rounders and some other later round picks.

[u7e041e8]Grade: C- ~ Almost a D+, but their pretty good mid and late round picks and the sheer amount of them pulls this into the C range. The Stinger just wish they could get that signing bonus back from Stevens.[/u7e041e8]

[b7e041e8]Shreveport Pride 2016 (6-10):[/b7e041e8]

[player]Kelvin Hartman[/player] will step into the starting MLB role and excel at it. Blah, blah, blah as the people in Shreveport cannot read any of this.

[u7e041e8]Grade: A ~ Blah,[/u7e041e8] [img7e041e8]http://home.no/femma/smilies/Beer%20Chug.gif[/img7e041e8] , [img7e041e8]http://www.clipartof.com/images/emotico ... _idiot.gif[/img7e041e8]

[b7e041e8]Memphis Pride 2016 (5-11):[/b7e041e8]

Memphis needed some help coming into this draft, and didn't get it.

[u7e041e8]Grade: F ~ Not epic, but still fail.[/u7e041e8]

Lol. :)

We're very happy with our draft this year. I fear that we still have a couple of big holes on our team. But I like the direction that we're headed in. We've got the key components in place and should be competitive this year.

No doubt that our 1st round pick is a bust, but we pick up 5 potential starters and a few quality backups in the rest of the draft. Unfortunately that still doesn't make up for a 1st round bust.

[player]Winfred Mahoney[/player] was really drafted to help us in the run def game. I probably should have passed on a DE in that round. That is what I get for targeting a need instead of an player. He won't be a star, but if he is a quality back up I will be happy :D
