DALLAS, TX - After a tough game in the rain on Sunday against the Shreveport Pride, the Sundevils find themselves leading the league in rushing yards. Of course, there have only been two games so far and the significance of that accomplishment is relatively small, but ask a Sundevil's fan about the significance and you'll get a totally different answer.

"Dawn of a new day, man. I might actually have to get me season tickets next year. I let mine lapse a couple seasons back." Gas station attendant Martin Masse was one of the many excited fans watching the game at Harringer's Bar and Grill on Sunday. Can you really blame them for their premature exuberance? The Sundevils had a horrific 3-13 season last year, so a 2-0 start feels like the CFL Bowl to these hungry fans.

A big part of their success so far has been 2nd year running back [player]T.J. Ibarra[/player] who put up 160 yards in only 17 attempts against the Pride, averaging 9.41 yards per carry and setting a team record.

It's a good thing the running game has been strong, as quarterbacks seem to be coming and going off the field at an alarming rate. Wylder had a knee injury in week 1 that kept him out of the Shreveport game, and Boutte, who had filled in for him, left towards the end of this week's game with a broken jaw.

"Of course it's disconcerting," coach DeFelice mentioned after the game, "but we have a strong back up group, and we intend to be successful regardless of who is in the pocket."

But if the Sundevils keep running like they are, it might not matter. Wylder is back next week, which should give the Sundevils some much needed diversity against the also 2-0 Fargo Frontier. Can Texas tie their win record from last season... in week three? Time will tell.
