[b0cc39a8][u0cc39a8]TAMPA BAY TORPEDOES MEDIA REPORT[/b0cc39a8][/u0cc39a8]
Tampa Bay, FL (AP): The Tampa Bay Torpedoes hosted the Baltimore Bombers in an AC ATLANTIC showdown and slipped by with a 38-35 victory. Torpedoes QB [player]Corwin Ellard[/player] was named MVP as he completed 27 of 42 passes (64.3%) for 341 yards with 5 TD's and rushed twice for 19 yards (9.5 Ypc). Offensively, the Torpedoes were very explosive as they recorded 464 total yards of offense. The Torpedoes turned the ball over twice. The Torpedoes converted very well on 3rd down. The Torpedoes scored 21 points on 3 trips to the Red Zone. Defensively, the Torpedoes struggled as they allowed 375 total yards of offense. The Torpedoes recorded 3 sacks. The Torpedoes struggled to stop the Bombers on 3rd down. The Torpedoes allowed 21 points on 4 trips to the Red Zone. The Torpedoes are currently atop the AFC ATLANTIC. The Torpedoes (3-1) travel to play the Cleveland Flats (3-1) next week and are in for a fight. Can the Torpedoes find a way to win on the road or will the Flats prevail at home.

Torpedoes Head Coach, Alvin Peterson had these comments after the game, "This was a solid win over a divisional foe. These wins are essential to making a run at the AC Playoffs. We are off to a fine start, but we can't get ahead of ourselves. That's where teams usually get in trouble. We need to keep taking our games one at a time and remaining focused on our next opponent. We travel to play the Cleveland Flats next week. The Flats have solid team and it won't be easy to pull off a win on the road. We need to balance our attack on offense, protect the ball, and take their crowd out of the game early on if we want to have a shot at winning this game and staying atop our division!"
