[bc63cb2c][uc63cb2c]TAMPA BAY TORPEDOES MEDIA REPORT[/bc63cb2c][/uc63cb2c]
Tampa Bay, FL (AP): The Tampa Bay Torpedoes hosted the Albany Crows and were blown out by the final score of 44-18. Crows QB [player]Norm Fisk[/player] was named MVP as he completed 20 of 24 passes (83.3%) for 256 yards with 3 TD's. Offensively, the Torpedoes had limited success moving the ball on the ground, but their passing game was limited. The Torpedoes allowed 2 sacks and turned the ball over 4 times. The Torpedoes scored 15 points on 2 trips to the Red Zone. The Crows controlled the clock and set the pace of the game. Defensively, the Torpedoes struggled as they allowed 428 total yards of offense. The Torpedoes struggled to stop the Crows on 3rd down. The Torpedoes allowed 34 points on 6 trips to the Red Zone. The Torpedoes remain atop the AC ATLANTIC even after this loss. The Torpedoes (6-3) host the rival Durham Bulldogs (3-6) in an AC ATLANTIC showdown next week. Can the Torpedoes bounce back with a win at home or will the Bulldogs find a way to win on the road!"
Torpedoes Head Coach, Alvin Peterson had these comments after the game, "We came crashing back to reality with the loss this week. We got embarrassed on our own field and we need to protect the ball a whole lot better. It's tough to win games in the CFL and you make it even harder to win games when you don't protect the ball. Our sloppy play this week is inexcusable and our fans deserve better. We need to put this loss aside and get back on track. We will review the game film and find ways to improve. We host the rival Durham Bulldogs next week and need to find a way to win this game. Throw out the record books when our teams get together. There is a natural hatred between the two teams and this game is going to get physical. Our players and fans know that the Bulldogs don't have the talent or class to even be on the field with us, but the schedule is what it is. We will put these mutts on a leash and put them back in their cage where they belong...Look for a lot of hitting and intensity from our team...This is a game we have to win. We are the superior team and we'll go out there and prove it next week!"
