Cheesehead Craig gave his annual press conference to address how the team looks going into the preseason.

[b567343e]Richard Dawson, AZ Sun Times:[/b567343e] Could you give us your thoughts on who the top 4 players from the draft were for the Outlaws?

[b567343e]CC:[/b567343e] First, we are extremely happy that we were able to get WR [player]Barry Reeves[/player]. He looked outstanding in camp and adding him with [player]Andre McCarthy[/player] they should give young QB [player]Justin Garner[/player] a lethal 1-2 combo to throw to. Second and third, SS [player]Trent Lyon[/player] and CB [player]Jeff Weatherly[/player] give us some much needed quality depth in our secondary. We've had a lot of turnover there in the past few seasons, so we need to start building on a solid cohesive unit. These 2 look like guys that can stick around and give us a secondary we can keep together for a long time. Last but not least, OLB [player]Kelvin Woodson[/player] looks to start right away and we expect big things from him. Overall our draft was very good for our ballclub.

[b567343e]Bob Barker, KSUN:[/b567343e] You made some big FA moves this offseason in getting G [player]Nolan Sheldon[/player] and RB [player]Mario Atkins[/player]. Didn't you overpay for them?

[b567343e]CC:[/b567343e] I felt the price was right for both of them. In seasons past, we did not go all out in FA and looking back I wish I had tried harder to land some of the bigger names out there. Our rushing attack had been lackluster for several seasons with us trying to get by with what we had. We decided that we needed to get our OL better to give our backs a better chance and then after realizing that we couldn't get much talent in the draft at RB, we pulled the trigger on Atkins who has proved himself as an outstanding back in the league. I think bringing these 2 on board we have emerged as a very dangerous offense.

[b567343e]Alex Trabek, AM 1440 KMOO:[/b567343e] With Vegas winning the title last season you're the only franchise in the Ring Of Fire without a title. Please comment.

[b567343e]CC:[/b567343e] Don't you ever ask a question you idiot? Damn you're annoying. Next.

[b567343e]Pat Sajak, Channel 8 News:[/b567343e] This team has gone 7-9 for the past 3 seasons and has wilted against the stronger teams in the league, yet you have kept the same coaching staff. Don't you think it's time for a change?

[b567343e]CC:[/b567343e] You can't just spin the coaching wheel for a new coach as the end all solution. Yes they are responsible for how the players do on the field, but the problem has been the talent given them, not the coaching of it. We have been so close to being just on the other side of .500 for a while now. We brought in a good number of quality players this offseason and I am confident that we will get over that .500 mark and contend for a playoff spot.

[b567343e]Guy Smiley, CFL Network:[/b567343e] There's been quite a buzz about rookie QB [player]Harvey Hillson[/player]. He's already developed a big fan following on the internet forums and some think he should be the starting QB, can you comment on that?

[b567343e]CC:[/b567343e] Sure thing Guy. Harvey was originally deemed as a project we could develop behind Justin as they ran very similar offenses in college so the coaching could be similar for both. Harvey has come along much faster than we anticipated and is showing fantastic promise. That said, Justin is our starter. Justin played very well last season and with the new weapons at his disposal this year, we feel he can make that next step in his development. We expect a big season from him this year.
