[bc65a749][uc65a749]TAMPA BAY TORPEDOES MEDIA REPORT[/bc65a749][/uc65a749]
Tampa Bay, FL (AP): The Tampa Bay Torpedoes hosted the New Orleans Raging Horde and lost by the final score of 24-23. Raging Horde ILB [player]Lionel Burton[/player] was named MVP as he recorded 14 tackles, 2 sacks, and forced 2 fumbles. Offensively, the Torpedoes moved the ball very well through the air, but their run game was shutdown. The Torpedoes allowed 5 sacks and need to do a whole lot better at their QB. The Torpedoes struggled to convert on 3rd down. The Torpedoes scored 20 points on 4 trips to the Red Zone. The Torpedoes dominated the time of possession and set the pace of the game. Defensively, the Torpedoes were dominant as they held the Raging Horde to 238 total yards of offense. The Torpedoes recorded 2 sacks. The Torpedoes made key stops on 3rd down. The Torpedoes allowed 17 points on 3 trips to the Red Zone. The Torpedoes sit in 3rd place of the AC ATLANTIC. The Torpedoes (2-3) host the Charleston Monitors (1-3) in an AC Atlantic matchup next week. Can the Torpedoes bounce back with a win at home or will the Monitors end their 3 game losing streak with a win on the road?

Torpedoes Head Coach, Alvin Peterson had these comments after the game, "This was a disheartening loss in a game that we should have won. We allowed the game to slip away in the 4th Quarter by shooting ourselves in the foot. We can't allow these games to get away from us if we want to make it to the AC Playoffs. We will review the game film and find ways to improve. We are without (QB) Corwin (Ellard) for a few weeks, so we will need to pull together as a team and get past this hurdle. We host the Charleston Monitors next week and need to find a way to win this game. We need to set the tone early on defense, establish our run game, and protect the ball if we want to have a shot at winning this game!"
