Can't believe Mark Takahashi didn't make the OROY list. Over 1,000 yards rushing and 44 receptions for 306 yards. He also has 11 TDs on the season.

Indeed he is! Enjoy him while you can. After he retires we probably won't see his like for a good long while.

Hopefully, this will be true after the latest patch. ;)

dola

I never could figure out how these numbers are calculated but the ST list is a good example of some common confusion. Why are kickers with higher FG % and more 50-yarders scoring less than the top guy, even with equivalent 40-yarders? It looks as though everyone below the top guy should score as well or better than the top guy. Not that STPOY is a significant award, just a good example of how these equations are very intuitive. Oh, and check out that undrafted rookie from Vegas sneaking into the top 5... :smt047

Does anyone have an understanding of how these awards are calculated?

As far as I know, these were designed by Ben E Lou, and he's tweaked them extensively over time so that they are pretty accurate. (dunno what version JJ is using though)

As Ben himself expresses, he doesn't really care about special teams so has never spent much time making them feel especially right.
So right now, they're more like the 'Special Team Player of the Year'ish award.

Check the update sparky. Just keep feeding him the rock if you are seeking OROY. If you want to get to and advance in the playoffs it may be more involved than that. I guess it depends on what's more important to you...
