1.22 - WR - Rusty Schneider - Howard University
Pre-Draft: 35/69
Post-Draft:
"Strong, talented, sure-handed," said Owner/Coach/GM/Towel-Boy Jeremy Shelley after the draft. "What more could you want in a receiver. There were some concerns about his being from a small school but we feel his skills will translate to the CFL quite nicely. We know Frank Pritchett liked this pick. Hopefully he'll see fewer double-teams now."

1.31 - OG - David Briggs - NC State
Pre-Draft: 31/66
Post-Draft:
"We were surprised he was still on the board. Our offensive line needs some upgrades and we feel that Briggs may be the man to do it. Sure, he gets tired tying his shoelaces but our athletic staff will work with him to improve his endurance."

2.21 - S - Jay "Captain" Kirk - The U
Pre-Draft: 46/60
Post-Draft:
"He's a true ball-hawking safety who had 11 interceptions in college over the last 2 years. We're going to stick him in the defensive backfield and let him do what he does best."

2.31 - RB - Ike Hopper - Georgia
Pre-Draft: 35/61
Post-Draft:
"It was time to inject some fresh blood into the stable of running backs we have here in Huntington Beach. Hopper fits the bill. He's fast and he graded out well. We think he may be better than advertised."

3.31 - QB - Andy McGregor - Notre Dame
Pre-Draft: 11/61
Post-Draft:
"Will he be the next Joe Montana? We hope so. Granted, QB wasn't an area of need for us. We could have waited until later rounds to draft a backup for Foster but we couldn't believe this kid was still sitting there at the end of the 3rd round. He has "starter" written all over him. To make sure he knows what it takes, we sent him to the local 7-11 to talk to Brady Quinn. His shift doesn't end until 5:30."

Other draft picks not worthy of pictures:
4.31 - Keith Borders - CB - Florida State
Pre-Draft: 20/66
Post-Draft:
"Smart corner and our scouts loved him. We'll see."

5.28 - Norbert Rickard - DE - Rutgers
Pre-Draft: 19/48
Post-Draft:
"Big, steady end who should provide quality depth."

5.31 - Norbert Dotson - ILB - Oregon State
Pre-Draft: 18/39
Post-Draft:
"Potential bust pick. He doesn't play the run very well. Might try him at OLB instead."

6.22 - Kelly Greer - OLB - Stanford
Pre-Draft: 19/53
Post-Draft:
"Small-ish LB who might be better suited at the mike LB position."

6.31 - Andy Horton - FB - Tennessee
Pre-Draft: 12/47
Post-Draft:
"All we really ask our FBs to do is block and Horton is pretty talented at that."

7.21 - Clarence Rice - WR - UCLA
Pre-Draft: 15/43
Post-Draft:
"Sure-handed, possession receiver who should contribute immediately on special teams."

7.31 - Jeff Summers - T - Texas
Pre-Draft: 7/55
Post-Draft:
"Technically sound tackle that would appear to be good value at the end of the 7th round."

I was going to say, the Norbert quota was filled and then some in 2024.

I like the Rice and Summers picks. I was hoping they would make it to post draft free agency.
