Hi Coaches,
Could anyone give me a rundown of what the differences are between the above versions of FOF ? I only have FOF2004 at present.

Thank You

I could actually game plan in 2004 and 2007 retires LB's by the truckload.

Seriously though, FOF Central is probably your best source of actual differences. I know player careers are much shorter in the new version.

I loved FOF2004, your Vets wouldn't take such crazy rating hits.

Honestly, it's been so long since I played 2004 that I'm not sure I can accurately remember the differences. As TT noted, FOFC is likely to be your best resource here.

And it is also worth noting that Ben E Lou, probably the single best MP player around, has begun posting very specific strategy tips over there. They really should be required reading - I encourage everyone to check them out.

Fork up the cash and buy the new game. It helps the cause and your donation could get a new FOF2011. By the way, there may not be any more openings by the time you make a decision. It took me almost 6 months to get an invite. I'd hate to see that happen to you when you've been lurking for a month. Do what the rest of us are doing on this site and play FOF2007.

Ok,
So I forked out the money and bought FOF2007 ver 6.4 acouple of days ago. Im busy running through the exhibition games as Atlanta, then I'll run a full season as Atlanta. Im doing this to get an idea of what Atlanta is like as a Single Player team. Im also trying to figure out how to play FOF properly (I am a complete n00b, so I didnt want to mess up a good league of vets with my n00bness).

I am saving/printing all the box files and log files to read the stats ,but apart from a few obvious stats its a bit daunting. I have read reams of guides etc on FOFTC and other sites ,but there is a lot to learn.

Anyway, I just wanted to update folks

SP is overrated. Never played it myself. From what I understand it is so different from MP that you are better off just jumping right into the league and learning the good old fashioned way. Baptism by fire baby!

Yeah I understand what you mean but I need to get familiar with the game , and SP is ok for me now. I know it isnt as challenging as MP. The more SP I play the less questions I may have later, and the less people get irritated maybe?

I have not even tried calling plays yet until I look at the produced stats and see what my team can do ,and dont even mention drafting and trading picks.

I read a few threads mentioning how some n00bs are stiffed in some leagues by the vets. I mean unfairly shafted as easy prey during drafts, trades, etc. How does the CFL feel about this ? It seems most current GMs are vets returning or have been playing for years. How do they feel about n00bs, someone to be helped, or an irritation ?
Just some thoughts.

Playing SP is a fine idea for understanding the mechanics of the game, but as far as gameplanning, drafting, and FA signings go it won't help you much. TT has the right of it - jumping into MP feet first (and making the mistakes we all make when we start out) is really the way to go once you're comfortable with the basics of the game. And trust me, nobody will be irritated with a n00b in this league. Hell, if we don't get (too) irritated with the likes of TT then we're unlikely to get irritated with anybody. :)

Seriously, this is a pretty helpful group of guys so don't hesitate to ask questions.
