Sunday Morning Quarterback – Weeks 3 & 4

GRIDIRON GRETA LIST OF THE WEEK (This week – best possession receivers)

5- Shannon McDonald - BKN
- 84 route running, 73 third down receiving and 84 adjust to ball. Two seasons with 70+ completion percentage on third down.

4- C.J. Hicks - BOS
- 95 route running, 71 third down receiving and 100 adjust to ball. Hicks is a four time first team all-league receiver.

3- John Yancy - FAR
- 84 route running, 90 third down receiving and 94 adjust to ball. Seven year veteran holds almost all receiving records for Fargo.

2- Dwayne Cabbage - HAR
- 100 route running, 95 third down catching and 100 adjust to ball. The former 3rd overall pick in 2024 has been very good but not great in his career.

1- Wally “Deep” Wooden
- 100 route running, 100 third down receiving and 92 adjust to ball. Wooden has shown that he is not only one of the fastest receiver but also is one of the best “receivers” in the league.

FINE FIVE:

1- Tucson (4-0)
2- Omaha (4-0)
3- Tennessee (4-0)
4- Santa Cruz (3-0)
5- Atlantic City (3-0)

Leagues Strongest Man (bench press repetition):

T1- Warren Prescott – Anchorage - 43
- At 31, Prescott is still showing the young kids what true strength is. 100 punishing hitter makes for a long day for opposing lineman and running backs.

T1- Ray Parmley – Cleveland - 43
- Parmley started hitting the weights hard in 2028 and it has paid off with second team all-league selections in 2029 and 2030.

T3- Carlos Krueger – Texas - 42
- Krueger is an example of a workout warrior. Very strong and surprisingly low body fat for a 301 pound lineman but it has not translated into star performances on the field.

T3- Brian Perkins – Las Vegas - 42
- 97 blocking strength shows his power. Unfortunately, he is a 4 in pass blocking.

T5- J.B. Gerhardt – El Paso - 42
- A 2029 first round pick, Gerhardt is just now becoming an impact player. 86/99 pass blocking and 100 blocking strength are impressive numbers.

T5- Justin Mohr – El Paso – 40
- Incredibly, another El Paso Rocket makes the list. Unfortunately, Mohr is all muscle and not much performance.

MVP WATCH:
Coming soon

TEN THINGS I THINK I THINK (OR SAW):

1- Tucson QB Eugene Paulk is having another great season, throwing for 300+ yards in two of the first four games. He also leads the league with twenty passes over 20 yards.

2- On the flip side, Chicago QB Marvin Griffith is off to a terrible start with 9 interceptions and a 55.5 rating. That’s not what you want from a $11+ million dollar per year signal caller.

3- RB Jake Germaine has not only taken over the starting running back spot for Huntington Beach but has also returned two punts for touchdowns.

4- Brandon Brennan, who has named a franchise player by Baltimore this year and had a lengthy holdout, is proving he is worth it with a league leading 5 sacks in four games.

5- Tennessee RB Bart Godfrey continues his early season tear. He is the only running back who has rushed for 100+ yards in every game this year.

6- The career of Anchorage DE Richard Riley may be over due to Repetitive Concussion Syndrome. A second round pick in 2028, Riley suffered his latest concussion in the second exhibition game and was recently placed on IR. He is out at least two years but probably should retire.

7- It is still VERY early, but one of the reasons for the surprising success of Atlantic City is the pass defense which is #1 in the league in passing yards allowed.

8- El Paso, the leagues most penalized team with 30, needs to clean this area up if they are to recover from a 1-3 start.

9- Turnover ratio continues to be a clue into the performance of a team. Las Vegas (0-4) sits at -12 while Tucson (4-0) leads the league at +10.

10- Seattle needs to find some offense FAST! They have scored a league low 22 points. On the bright side, they have yet to be shut out.
