ugh... the pain continues.. Things were looking good until a crucial turnover and some poor playcalling (just over 2 minutes left, we have the lead, 3rd and 2, and we pass... incomplete..) |

This is frustrating. McMillan gets knocked out of the game in the 1st quarter. What would any reasonable coach do? That's right, run the ball, but no, they've got my useless 2nd-string QB in there throwing it. Well, at least they'll be no doubt about the gameplan for the next couple of weeks.

Holy cow! Mine was a very exciting game to watch on 3ric's viewer... My final drive, score is 24-20 Shreveport at that time: Score: Shreveport 24, Detroit 20. SHR 17 Blume kicked off 62 yards from the SHR30. DET 84 Infante returned the ball 24 yards to the DET32. Tackled by SHR 39 Page. Possession to Detroit. 1-10-DET32 (01:46) DET 16 Mathias pass completed to 40 Bevan for 16 yards. Tackled by SHR 20 Groom. -- 1-10-DET48 (01:28) DET 16 Mathias pass fell incomplete, intended for 83 Manos. SHR 59 Mask hurried the quarterback into a bad throw. 2-10-DET48 (01:19) Penalty: DET - False Start. 2-15-DET43 (01:19) DET 16 Mathias pass completed to 89 Gunter for 46 yards. Tackled by SHR 33 Scott. -- 1-10-SHR11 (00:58) DET 16 Mathias spiked the ball to stop the clock. 2-10-SHR11 (00:55) DET 16 Mathias pass completed to 87 McNeese for 7 yards. Kudos once again to my special team unit who blocked another punt this week, and consistently gave my team good field position and my opponent a bad one. I really need to find out what is wrong with my offense.... |

You then scored another FG about 6 minutes into OT. Oh and the 407 yds are Ronnie Tu's passing total. Total offense was 502 yds!!!

And the Tucson Train somehow keeps on rollin'. We won despite a very average offensive output, but QB Milan "Colonel" Hogan played within himself, WR Miles Shumaker came through with a huge 50 yd reception in the 2nd half to set up the go-ahead touchdown, and the defense played well enough to limit a spirited effort by Lenny Olsen and the Crawfish. The pass defense in particular played well, with what I believe is a team record [icd496c1]9[/icd496c1] passes defensed. But don't believe the hype (not that I've really heard any). We may be undefeated, but we are very beatable. We've gotten lucky in some close games. Will Tulsa (1-6) rise up and give us the beatdown we've been expecting every week? |

Geez, another super tight game against one of the top teams in the league. I guess the past two weeks means that the Rockets are for real, but I really wish that we had won at least one of those game...

At least I can't lose next week. Thank the good Lord for the bye week. |
