Albany Engineers
Cleveland Flats
Chicago Hitmen
Detroit Vampires

AFC East (Atlantic)
Charleston Monitors
Baltimore Bombers
Durham Bulldogs
Tampa Bay Torpedoes

AFC North (New England/Yankee)
New York Empire
Boston Panthers
Atlantic City Phantoms
Hartford Attack

NFC Pacific (California/San Andreas)
Huntington Beach Capitalists
Sacramento Dragons
Long Beach Calibri
Santa Cruz Privateers

NFC North (Cold/Canada/NorthWest/Mountain)
Oregon Ice
Anchorage Unknown
Boise Stampede
Seattle Thunderbirds

NFC Central (Mountain/Arid/Cattle)
Denver Dynomite
Fargo Boxcars
El Paso Rockets
Tulsa Talons

NFC West (Ring of Fire)
Honolulu Pacific
Tucson Toros
Las Vegas Crawfish
Arizona Outlaws

Back when the league started the AFC was the Eastern Conference and the NFC was the Western Conference.

I like the creative division names. My favorites are:

Deep South
Steel Belt
Atlantic
Yankee
San Andreas
Cold
Cattle
Ring of Fire

What does everyone else think of these names?

The original divisions were done with then supposed rivalries that may or may not still be around

We aren't going to re-arrange the divisions (I don't think that's even possible), we're just talking about renaming the divisions...

How about a poll for each division name once we have enough suggestions out in the open?

I really like some of the names thrown out there so far...

I like the poll idea, too. I'll be taking suggestions until Sunday and then I'll post the polls. Speak now or forever hold your peace...

I will post polls for these division names tomorrow, but here are a couple more possibilities to throw into the mix...

AFC South - Gulf of Mexico Division
AFC East - Beasts of the East (still the best division in the league!)
