Game Report: Atlantic City 16, Seattle 20
Week 2

PLAYER OF THE GAME – QB Todd Nelson
Image
What a difference a week makes. After a horrible week 1 performance, Nelson showed why he won the QB battle with Rico Firth as he threw for 315 yards with 1 TD and 1 Int. It didn’t start or end well, however, as Nelson threw an interception on his first pass of the day which led to a quick 10-0 Seattle lead and had a fumble late in the game on a sack.

MISSING IN ACTION – Third Down Conversions
ACI was 4/13 on third down conversions. The rushing game was 3/3, leaving the passing game 1/9. Taking a closer look, only 2 passes were even completed on third down. A hUGE improvement is needed in this area if the Phantoms hope to get out of this slump.

WHAT IF . . .
Some good defense by ACI left the offense one last chance with the ball on the their own 44 yard line with 1:57 left. Too bad the first play from scrimmage was a disaster and ended all hope for the Phantoms.

1-10-ACI44 (4Q: 01:57) Todd Nelson sacked by DE Jamal Hammond for a loss of 5 yards. Sack allowed by Gabe Burdick. The ball was fumbled and recovered by SEA Charles Durham on the ACI39.

IF YOU MISSED IT
• RB J.R. Brustkern had 22 carries for 91 yards but only had 8 yards in the 4th quarter.
• Rookie WR Donald Kruger appears to be the focal point of the offense with 8 targets and 7 catches for 82 yards. The best WR in the game, however, was Seattle rookie WR Daniel Saba. Saba was a handful all day with 4 catches for 120 yards and two touchdowns. The biggest number for Saba was 76 yards after the catch.

BY THE NUMBERS
134 - Kickoff return yards by Seattle. The ACI coverage unit needs to improve.
1 - ACI sacks.
3- Red Zone visits for ACI
0 – Red Zone TD’s / FGS for ACI
