Post subject: | Atlantic City Game Report - Week 6 |
Busy getting ready to send a Daughter to College so I am a bit late on these... Game Report: Shreveport 24, Atlantic City 16 Week 6 PLAYER OF THE GAME – S Wendell Myrick The Atlantic City defense had its back against the wall all game long thanks to the pathetic performance of the offense (mainly QB Rico Firth). Myrick was a key reason why the game was even as close as it was with 11 tackles, 2 assists and 1 sack. MISSING IN ACTION – Ball Control The key to the Phantoms offense is the ability to control the ball with a solid running game and short passing game. This also means limiting turnovers. Thanks to 5 interceptions thrown by Firth and 2 fumbles (1 recovered), the offense was bad. Third down conversions continue to be a problem as this week ACI was 2/14. WHAT IF . . . Firth threw to the correct jersey color! IF YOU MISSED IT • Firth’s QB rating was 29.6. • You can call it a great Pride return unit or a poor Phantom coverage unit, but Shreveport had an excellent kickoff return day. Wally Wooden and Cris Shaw each averaged over 30 yards per kickoff return. • RB J.R. Brustkern had his worst game of the year when ACI needed him the most. 14 carries for 46 yards will not get the job done. BY THE NUMBERS 3/3 – Another perfect day for Kicker Dixon Finch, who seems to have rebounded from his poor season last year. 4 - ACI sacks. Not quite the 9 from the previous week but a solid number. 1- ACI rushing plays over 10 yards. UP NEXT Brooklyn |
